📋 Description

• As a Staff Cloud Security Engineer at Calix, you will lead efforts to build and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure that empowers engineers to innovate quickly and safely, directly supporting the company’s mission to enable Communication Service Providers to simplify, innovate, and grow.
• Day to day, you will conduct security assessments and audits, monitor and respond to security events, develop and maintain cloud security policies and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) with embedded controls, manage endpoint security solutions (Cortex XDR, SentinelOne), configure cloud firewalls, apply zero trust principles, integrate security into CI/CD pipelines, and mentor junior engineers.
• You will join a dynamic, innovative team at Calix, a company at the forefront of transforming the broadband industry through its AI-powered Calix One platform, working cross-functionally to secure a growing cloud ecosystem and drive innovation in network architecture.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in cloud-native security, gain leadership experience mentoring engineers, influence enterprise-wide security strategy, and contribute to securing critical infrastructure that enables digital inclusion and community growth.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, or similar roles
• 5+ years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols
• Strong proficiency in Google Cloud Platform
• Experience securing CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and internal tooling
• Relevant GCP certifications (e.g., Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer) are highly desirable

🏖️ Benefits

• Base pay range of $136,000 - $231,000 USD annually for all other US locations (San Francisco Bay Area: $156,400 - $265,700)
• Eligibility for bonus as part of total compensation package
