- • As a Staff Data Engineer on the Analytics Engineering team at Upside Services, Inc., you will serve as a technical leader driving the design and implementation of foundational data products and analytics platform capabilities that power critical product and business use cases.
- • You will lead cross-functional workstreams, shape data architecture and patterns across teams, own platform evolution initiatives such as migrating to Snowflake Semantic Views or improving orchestration tooling, and elevate the overall quality and impact of data work by mentoring engineers and driving best practices.
- • Upside transforms brick-and-mortar commerce by leveraging online retail sophistication to deliver increased value to users and profitable customers to businesses, with billions of dollars in commerce flowing through its platform annually, supporting retailer partners, consumers, and sustainability initiatives.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in scalable data platforms, influence technical strategy across engineering, product, and data science teams, and grow as a leader who shapes the future of data at Upside while fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and collaboration.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of experience in data or analytics engineering with ownership of complex, business-critical data systems end to end
- • Deep expertise in SQL and Python for transforming, testing, and orchestrating very large datasets
- • Fluency with platforms like AWS, Snowflake, dbt, and Dagster to design extensible, reusable patterns across teams
- • Ability to break down ambiguous, cross-functional data problems and lead implementation from design to deployment while collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- • Experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD for data), data governance, or FinOps (cost-conscious design)
- • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly to engineers, analysts, product managers, and business leaders
