- • As a Staff Developer Advocate at Pinecone Systems Inc., you will own and grow the Pinecone developer community—both online and in-person—with a strategic focus on strengthening the company’s presence in the San Francisco/Bay Area. This role is critical to driving developer adoption, fostering engagement, and translating community insights into product improvements and educational content that empower users to build scalable AI applications.
- • Day to day, you will lead and grow Pinecone’s Discord community by driving engagement, improving onboarding, and maintaining high-signal interactions; run recurring office hours to help developers unblock challenges and learn best practices; own and execute SF-area community events including meetups, hackathons, and larger gatherings—from theme development and speaker selection to promotion and post-event follow-up; create and maintain hands-on technical assets such as sample apps, demos, and code walkthroughs focused on RAG systems, knowledge management, and platform/infra patterns; and publish technical content across internal and external platforms, including tutorials, short-form videos, docs, and social posts, grounded in real developer use cases.

- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in cutting-edge AI infrastructure, particularly around LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and vector search; scale your impact as a technical communicator and community builder; shape the direction of a high-growth product category; and grow as a leader through autonomous, high-visibility initiatives that influence both product strategy and developer experience worldwide.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of experience in a technical role such as software engineering, solution engineering, or machine learning
- • Proficient in 2+ programming languages
- • Owned and grown a technical developer community
- • Ran in-person developer events end to end
- • Shipped demos and sample code and taught them clearly
- • Strong writing and live speaking and Q&A abilities
- • Fluent in LLM apps and RAG with strong API instincts
- • SF-based preferred with up to 20% travel
