• • As a Staff Developer on the Front-end Foundations team at Jane Technologies, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our frontend engineering practices. Reporting to the Development Manager, your primary focus will be on empowering Janers by providing them with robust platforms, cutting-edge tools, and scalable systems that enable them to concentrate on solving domain-specific challenges. This role is critical for enhancing the speed and efficiency of product teams, ultimately contributing directly to Jane's mission of helping clinics care for their patients more effectively.
• • You will be instrumental in evolving our Module Federation architecture, taking ownership of its topology, governance, and the critical technical decisions that product teams rely upon. Your mandate will include establishing a clear, well-documented strategic direction that empowers others to confidently build and innovate on top of this foundation.
• • A significant aspect of your role will involve leading our frontend modernization strategy. This includes defining and executing a clear deprecation path for legacy patterns, developing sophisticated codemod tooling to automate transformations, and collaborating closely with various product teams to ensure a safe, sustainable, and efficient migration process.
• • You will serve as a crucial technical bridge, fostering collaboration and influencing architectural decisions across different value stream teams, extending beyond the immediate scope of Module Federation.
• • A key initiative will be to grow and mature our React Native foundation, mirroring the advancements made on the web platform. This involves establishing best practices, developing essential tooling, and setting standards that ensure mobile development is treated as a first-class citizen within our development ecosystem.
• • Elevating frontend observability across both web and mobile platforms is another core responsibility. You will be responsible for instrumenting systems, diagnosing complex behaviors, and driving continuous improvements in performance, reliability, and overall developer experience.
• • You will contribute significantly to the development and execution of a 6-12 month technical strategy for the team's domains. This includes taking ownership of the team's successful delivery against this strategy, proactively identifying and managing risks, and ensuring timely execution with a high degree of confidence.
• • A vital part of this role is to raise the technical bar for the entire team. You will achieve this through rigorous architecture reviews, the creation of well-written Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), providing high-quality code reviews, and engaging in hands-on pairing sessions that foster skill development and knowledge sharing among your peers.
• • You will actively coach and mentor team members, elevating their capabilities through constructive code reviews, collaborative pairing, and effective knowledge dissemination. Your success will be intrinsically linked to the success of the team, embodying a true team-player mentality.
