- • As a Staff Developer on the Onboarding team at Jane Technologies, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the initial experience of our new clinic customers. This is not a typical product development role; instead, you will operate at a critical juncture, bridging the gap between a clinic's sign-up and their successful adoption of Jane's powerful platform. Your mission is to tackle the complex challenges of customer activation and retention, ensuring that new users navigate their crucial first days with ease and develop a deep affinity for Jane.
- • The Onboarding team is uniquely positioned to influence key business metrics such as churn and activation rate. While these metrics seem straightforward, the complexity arises from the fact that the team does not own all the levers that directly impact them. This interdependency across various product domains makes the work exceptionally interesting and requires a strategic, cross-functional approach.
- • You will be instrumental in driving a culture of rapid experimentation and learning. The team thrives on moving quickly, launching small projects, utilizing feature toggles, and iterating rapidly to discover what truly resonates with our users. Your ability to translate ideas into validated learning within days, rather than weeks, will be a significant contribution.
- • A key aspect of this role involves partnering across different product domains to dismantle activation barriers that may not fall under a single team's purview. You will be the connective tissue, identifying and resolving friction points that span from initial signup through to charting and beyond, ultimately creating a seamless and intuitive user journey.
- • You will be a catalyst for enhancing the team's AI literacy and development velocity. This involves not only modeling the effective use of generative AI tools in your own workflow but also actively teaching and mentoring other engineers on how to leverage these powerful technologies to build better and smarter solutions.
- • Making sound architectural decisions and trade-offs will be crucial. You will need to possess the judgment to balance the need for speed and rapid iteration with the long-term goal of building sustainable and maintainable systems. Understanding when to "hack" a solution and when to invest in more robust engineering practices is paramount.
- • Your consistent delivery of meaningful results will be essential, all while fostering a team environment where experimentation, learning, and iteration are encouraged and supported. You will help create a safe space for the team to take calculated risks and grow.
- • The role demands a proactive approach to identifying and addressing the hardest activation and retention problems within our business. This requires a deep understanding of the customer lifecycle and a commitment to finding innovative solutions.
- • You will contribute to the strategic direction of the onboarding product, influencing the roadmap and prioritizing initiatives that have the greatest impact on customer success and business growth.
- • Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineering teams will be a daily occurrence. Your technical expertise will inform product strategy and ensure that technical feasibility aligns with user needs and business objectives.
- • You will be expected to champion best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, and deployment, while adapting these practices to the fast-paced, experimental nature of the team.
- • The ultimate goal is to ensure that new customers not only complete their onboarding but also fall in love with Jane, becoming long-term, successful users. This requires a deep empathy for the customer and a relentless focus on improving their experience.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a mission that directly impacts customer satisfaction and business growth, with a strong emphasis on innovation and the application of cutting-edge technologies like AI.
