  • • As a Staff DevOps Engineer at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, you will design, build, and evolve platform engineering and delivery capabilities to enable reliable, scalable, and secure systems across the enterprise, operating at the intersection of software development, systems engineering, and automation.
  • • Day to day, you will design and manage scalable, highly available infrastructure in cloud environments, define infrastructure-as-code standards using Terraform and CloudFormation, architect and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build/test/deployment, build internal tools for self-service infrastructure, optimize Linux/Unix and containerized systems, troubleshoot complex production issues, embed security best practices (DevSecOps), implement secrets management and secure communication patterns, and serve as a technical mentor influencing architecture decisions and platform strategy.
  • • You will partner closely with SRE, development, and infrastructure teams to improve delivery velocity, operational resilience, and developer experience, contributing to incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement while driving adoption of GitOps, pipeline-as-code, and environment standardization.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • • 10+ years of professional experience in software development with a track record of delivering high-quality solutions
  • • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript
  • • Experience with UI frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Django, Flask) and API frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Express)
  • • Deep understanding of database systems and SQL, including experience designing and optimizing database schemas
  • • Strong knowledge of application architecture and design patterns
