Staff Engineer - Sentinels

📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end security posture of JioStar’s 750-million-viewer streaming, live-broadcast and social-gaming platform. You will design and operate the Sentinels program—our elite security tooling and automation layer that protects every frame of video and every byte of user data.
• • Serve as the technical anchor for a cross-functional squad of security, platform and product engineers. You will translate complex threat models into crisp architectural decisions, then roll up your sleeves to code, test and ship the controls yourself.
• • Build and extend self-service security platforms that let 200+ internal teams deploy safely at cloud scale. Your systems will automatically detect misconfigurations, enforce policy-as-code and remediate risks without slowing releases.
• • Lead incident-response war-room exercises and post-mortems. When a zero-day drops at 2 a.m., you will coordinate containment, forensics and customer communication while mentoring junior engineers through the pressure.
• • Drive a culture of “security by design.” You will embed threat-modeling checklists into every Jira template, run architecture-review office hours and create lightweight guardrails that make the secure path the easiest path.
• • Evangelize security across the business. From board-level risk dashboards to lunch-and-learn sessions for content producers, you will convert technical findings into stories that inspire non-technical stakeholders to act.
• • Pioneer next-generation defenses for containerized micro-services running on EKS at petabyte scale. You will evaluate eBPF runtime sensors, confidential-computing enclaves and AI-driven anomaly detection, then shepherd the winning ideas into production.
• • Mentor and level-up a distributed team of senior and staff engineers. You will craft growth roadmaps, conduct deep-dive code reviews and champion psychological safety so every teammate can ship bold solutions.
• • Define measurable security outcomes—MTTD, MTTR, patch latency, blast-radius reduction—and instrument them into living SLOs that guide prioritization and celebrate wins.
• • Stay relentlessly curious. Whether it’s a new AWS service, an open-source scanner or an obscure CVE, you will experiment, document and teach so the entire org moves faster than the threat landscape.
