- • As a Staff Infrastructure Engineer at Fieldguide, you will be at the forefront of shaping our technological future, driving critical initiatives that span multiple teams and product areas. This is a pivotal role where you will define the technical direction for how Fieldguide builds and operates its infrastructure, especially in the context of an increasingly AI-native landscape. You will be instrumental in leading our most significant infrastructure projects, collaborating closely with executive leadership on both technical and AI strategy, and architecting platforms and systems designed to unlock unprecedented product development and delivery capabilities at scale.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass the entire lifecycle of infrastructure development and management. You will take ownership of the technical quality bar and architectural standards for Fieldguide’s infrastructure, ensuring robustness, scalability, and security. A key aspect of your role will be to build sophisticated platforms and AI-enabled systems that empower multiple engineering teams, accelerating their ability to innovate and deliver value to our customers. This involves identifying and executing on high-leverage opportunities that materially speed up the delivery process across the entire engineering organization.
- • You will play a crucial role in shaping and communicating Fieldguide's technical and AI strategy, working in partnership with executives to align technological advancements with business objectives. Ensuring the security and compliance of our infrastructure will be paramount. This includes establishing organization-wide standards for critical areas such as identity management, network segmentation, secrets handling, and vulnerability management, ensuring we meet and exceed industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- • Furthermore, you will be responsible for bootstrapping large-scale reliability, automation, and platform initiatives. These efforts are designed to fundamentally improve how our engineering teams operate, fostering a more efficient, resilient, and productive environment. Your expertise will be vital in mentoring senior engineers and tech leads, empowering them to become force multipliers within their own teams and fostering a culture of technical leadership and continuous improvement.
- • While you will be driving strategic initiatives, you will also remain hands-on where your involvement creates the greatest leverage. This includes active participation in incident response, conducting thorough architecture reviews, and making high-stakes technical decisions that have a significant impact on our systems and products. Your technical leadership will be essential in representing Fieldguide’s commitment to technical excellence, both internally and externally, and will be key in attracting top-tier infrastructure talent to our growing team.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the trajectory of an early-stage startup that is revolutionizing the audit and advisory space. You will contribute to building software that enables trust in global commerce and capital markets by automating and streamlining the work of assurance and audit practitioners. By bringing together significant portions of their work and improving their work-life balance, you will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of these critical professionals. If you are passionate about building a great culture and product, and share our values of being fearless, fast, lovable, owners, win-win, and inclusive, you will find a fulfilling home at Fieldguide.
- • You will be a key player in designing and implementing solutions that support our AI-native approach, ensuring our infrastructure can effectively leverage and serve AI models and tools. This includes understanding the unique challenges and opportunities presented by AI in terms of data management, computational resources, and model deployment. Your work will directly contribute to Fieldguide's mission of building the future of business trust through innovative technology.
- • You will be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of our development and deployment pipelines, focusing on automation, efficiency, and reliability. This includes exploring and implementing new tools and technologies that can enhance our engineering velocity and reduce operational overhead. Your ability to anticipate future needs and proactively address potential challenges will be critical to our long-term success.
- • Collaborating with product management and other engineering teams will be essential to understand their needs and translate them into robust infrastructure solutions. You will act as a bridge between business requirements and technical implementation, ensuring that our infrastructure effectively supports the evolving needs of our products and customers.
- • Your role will also involve staying abreast of the latest trends and advancements in cloud computing, infrastructure engineering, and AI, and evaluating their potential applicability to Fieldguide. This forward-thinking approach will ensure that our infrastructure remains cutting-edge and competitive.
- • Ultimately, as a Staff Infrastructure Engineer, you will be a foundational member of our engineering team, driving technical excellence, fostering innovation, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our platform as we continue to grow and achieve our ambitious goals.
