📋 Description

• As a Staff Infrastructure Engineer at SEON Technologies Ltd., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical velocity of a fast-growing fraud prevention and AML compliance platform trusted by global leaders like Revolut, Wise, and Bilt. Your work will directly empower product engineers to ship code securely, rapidly, and autonomously by building self-service infrastructure tooling that reduces friction and cognitive load across the organization.
• You will architect and implement "Golden Paths"—standardized, automated templates for microservices and infrastructure—that enable teams to deploy safely and quickly without deep infrastructure expertise, while collaborating closely with the Senior Manager of Platform Engineering to treat infrastructure as a product and developers as customers.
• Day to day, you will design and build CLI tools, portals, or API interfaces that abstract cloud infrastructure complexity, allowing developers to self-serve resources; develop and maintain modular, testable, versioned Terraform modules as reusable building blocks for all engineering teams; architect robust GitHub Actions workflows and GitOps pipelines (e.g., ArgoCD) to automate the full delivery lifecycle with automatic quality gates; implement "Compliance by Design" using Open Policy Agent (OPA) to embed security and compliance controls (SOC2, ISO) directly into pipelines; work with SRE to ensure every service deployed via the Golden Path inherits standardized logging, Prometheus metrics, and Grafana dashboards without manual configuration; and continuously refine platform capabilities based on developer feedback to improve velocity and reliability.
• You will join a world-class R&D organization transitioning to a Platform Engineering model, where your contributions will directly support SEON’s mission to deliver richer data, more transparent analysis, and faster time to value than any other fraud prevention provider on the market, all while operating in a remote-first European environment with a preference for Budapest, Hungary and occasional office travel.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in platform engineering at scale, gain strategic influence over infrastructure productization, and achieve measurable impact by enabling hundreds of engineers to innovate faster—positioning yourself as a technical leader who bridges DevOps, software engineering, and platform thinking in a high-growth FinTech environment.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering with a proven track record of building infrastructure and tools for other engineers
• Strong software engineering fluency, including proficiency in a high-level language such as Go or Python for building automation, CLIs, or platform plugins
• Deep, hands-on expertise in AWS and Kubernetes, including experience extending Kubernetes via Operators or CRDs to simplify developer workflows
• Expert-level knowledge of Terraform, including designing reusable module hierarchies and managing remote state strategies at scale
• Experience working in regulated environments (FinTech preferred) with understanding of DevSecOps and automation of compliance checks (SAST/DAST) within CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset, capable of translating complex infrastructure concepts for application development teams
