- • As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer on the AI Generation Engine (SAIGE) team at SandboxAQ, you will own the end-to-end ML lifecycle for AI-first SaaS products powered by Large Quantitative Models (LQMs) and agentic frameworks, bridging cutting-edge research with production-grade deployment to solve high-impact challenges in life sciences, finance, cybersecurity, and beyond.
- • Your day-to-day will involve designing and managing scalable data pipelines, developing and testing novel ML models, engineering features from large datasets, analyzing model performance and failure modes, tuning hyperparameters, and collaborating with researchers, product managers, and software engineers to translate business goals into actionable ML roadmaps while maintaining high engineering standards.
- • You will join a founding, high-velocity team within SandboxAQ—a spinout from Alphabet Inc.—that brings together experts in AI, chemistry, physics, mathematics, medicine, and engineering to build transformative AI solutions, operating with autonomy, creativity, and a mission-driven culture focused on ownership and impact.
- • In this role, you will accelerate your expertise in MLOps, scalable ML systems, and LQM applications, gain end-to-end ownership of AI product development, and contribute to founding a team that shapes the future of AI-driven SaaS innovation across critical industries.
🎯 Requirements
- • BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent field of study
- • 8+ years of postgraduate experience in software development
- • Strong expertise in Python (including PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, NumPy, Pandas) and proven experience developing scalable ML systems with large-scale data processing pipelines
