đź“‹ Description
- • As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Twilio, you will be at the forefront of innovation, shaping the future of communications through cutting-edge AI and ML solutions. This role is pivotal in translating complex business needs into tangible, scalable machine learning systems that impact hundreds of thousands of businesses and millions of developers globally.
- • You will be instrumental in scoping, designing, and deploying robust ML systems into production environments, working in close collaboration with Product and Engineering teams to execute Twilio’s AI/ML product roadmap.
- • A key aspect of this role involves deeply understanding customer needs and translating them into data products that operate at a global scale. You will own the end-to-end execution of large-scale ML solutions, ensuring they are not only effective but also reliable and maintainable.
- • Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining scalable machine learning solutions in production, ensuring they perform optimally and meet business objectives.
- • You will be tasked with training and validating both deep learning-based and statistical-based models, carefully considering the specific use-case, complexity, performance requirements, and overall robustness of each solution.
- • A critical part of your contribution will be demonstrating an end-to-end understanding of the applications you work on. This means developing a profound understanding of the underlying principles and the “why” behind our models and systems, enabling you to troubleshoot effectively and innovate strategically.
- • You will partner closely with product managers, tech leads, and other stakeholders to meticulously analyze business problems, clarify requirements, and precisely define the scope of the systems needed to address them.
- • Collaboration extends to working closely with data platform teams to architect and build robust, scalable batch and real-time data pipelines that are essential for feeding and supporting our ML models.
- • You will also collaborate extensively with software engineers, contributing to the development of tools that enhance productivity and streamline the process of shipping and maintaining ML models in production.
- • Driving high engineering standards within the team is a core expectation. This will be achieved through active mentoring, knowledge sharing, and leading by example in adopting best practices.
- • Upholding engineering best practices is paramount. This includes rigorous code reviews, implementing comprehensive automated testing strategies, and establishing effective monitoring systems to ensure the health and performance of deployed ML models.
- • You will leverage your deep background in ML engineering and your consistent track record of solving data and machine-learning problems at scale to tackle challenging and impactful projects.
- • As a self-starter with a growth mindset, you will thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment, collaborating effectively across diverse organizational boundaries.
- • Your ability to ramp up quickly, understand, and operate effectively in new application or business domains will be crucial for success.
- • You will contribute to designing and architecting large-scale experiments and analyses that provide critical insights to inform and shape the product roadmap.
- • You will be expected to explore and utilize modern data storage, messaging, and processing tools (such as Kafka, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Presto, DynamoDB, etc.), demonstrating experience in designing and coding with big-data components.
- • Working within an agile team environment with evolving priorities will be a regular part of your experience, requiring adaptability and proactive problem-solving.
- • This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to Twilio's mission of revolutionizing how the world interacts, by building intelligent systems that enhance customer experiences and drive business value on a global scale.
