📋 Description

• As a Staff ML Engineer at Yubo, you will play a pivotal role in scaling machine learning as a core production layer powering critical systems in safety, recommendations, and product optimization for a social discovery platform serving millions of Gen Z users worldwide.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include delivering end-to-end ML use cases, ensuring production readiness and scalability, defining and improving the full ML lifecycle, contributing to ML platform strategy, taking ownership of legacy models, and providing cross-functional leadership across Data Engineering, MLOps, Backend Platform, and Product teams.
• You will join Yubo’s Platform Engineering team, reporting directly to the Head of Platform Engineering, in an international, multicultural environment committed to building a safe digital space for users through proactive trust and safety initiatives.
• In this role, you will gain deep experience in shaping ML operating models at scale, driving the transition from ‘deploy and forget’ to reliable, measurable systems, and establishing standards for LLMs, OCR, and model lifecycle management while influencing ML practices across the organization.

🎯 Requirements

• 8–10 years of experience in ML/Data with exposure to large-scale datasets (hundreds of gigabytes)
• Strong expertise in modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
• High proficiency in Python and the data ecosystem
• Deep knowledge of neural networks and large language models (LLMs)
• End-to-end understanding of ML systems: data → training → deployment → monitoring
• Proven experience in production ML systems, not just research
• Ability to align ML solutions with business needs and demonstrate product sense
• Strong communication skills to explain complex ML concepts clearly
• Comfort operating under ambiguity and structuring complex problems
• Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence without authority
