- • As a Staff Performance Engineer at Helius Labs, you will own the most latency-critical systems that power real-time data streaming for traders, exchanges, and DeFi protocols on the Solana blockchain, directly impacting the performance and scalability of internet capital markets.
- • You will set technical direction for performance across Helius’ core infrastructure, profile and tune low-level Rust services, design systems for microsecond-level latency, lead cross-team initiatives to eliminate bottlenecks, mentor engineers, and ensure foundational systems remain simple, reliable, and easy to operate at scale.
- • Helius is a senior, performance-obsessed team building core infrastructure for Solana, trusted by industry leaders like Coinbase, Phantom, and Jupiter, backed by top-tier investors including Haun Ventures, Founders Fund, and Foundation Capital, with a mission to accelerate decentralized application development through simplicity and scalability.
- • In this role, you will drive architectural decisions that influence company-wide engineering standards, ship optimizations with outsized impact on throughput and latency, deepen your expertise in high-performance systems, and grow as a technical leader shaping the future of blockchain infrastructure.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of systems-level engineering in Rust or C++
- • Deep experience tuning high-throughput, latency-sensitive systems
- • Track record of leading ambiguous, cross-team technical projects and shipping durable systems
- • Strong intuition for hardware, operating systems, and network performance
- • Ability to operate with high ownership on difficult technical problems and make decisions legible to stakeholders
- • Experience in trading systems (DeFi or TradFi) — nice to have
- • Background in performance-obsessed environments like Cloudflare, Netflix, or similar — nice to have
