- • Own BeReal’s product analytics layer end-to-end, serving as the senior technical authority on analytics and reporting directly to the VP Engineering.
- • Define and execute the product analytics roadmap by aligning data modeling, observability, and tooling with product priorities and strategic goals.
- • Partner closely with Product Managers to translate product loops, retention mechanics, and experimentation requirements into scalable, reliable data models.
- • Build and deploy AI-powered internal analytics tools that allow stakeholders to query data using natural language, reducing dependency on engineering for ad-hoc analysis.
- • Own the integration between BigQuery, Amplitude, and BeReal’s experimentation framework to ensure a single source of truth for all product metrics and KPIs.
- • Design and maintain a self-service metrics layer that empowers Product Managers to independently analyze user funnels, cohort behaviors, and A/B test results without engineering support.
- • Write production-grade dbt models to transform raw event data into clean, structured metrics, optimizing for reliability, performance, and scalability across large datasets.
- • Lead technical reviews for analytics infrastructure, establishing and enforcing best practices in analytics engineering across cross-functional teams.
- • Collaborate with Backend and Mobile engineering teams to ensure all product features are instrumented with robust, analytics-ready data collection from day one of development.
- • Monitor data quality and observability across the analytics pipeline to guarantee trust, accuracy, and consistency in all product reporting and decision-making.
- • Evaluate and help define the future BI and dashboarding stack (Looker / Metabase / Mode) to enhance accessibility and usability of analytics for non-technical stakeholders.
- • Ensure analytics instrumentation is consistently maintained and updated as product features evolve, with a focus on minimizing data drift and ensuring longitudinal metric integrity.
- • Drive adoption of standardized naming conventions, metadata documentation, and data dictionary practices to improve cross-team alignment and reduce ambiguity in metric definitions.
- • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior analytics and data engineers to strengthen the overall capability of the data team.
- • Act as the primary point of contact for data-related inquiries from Product, Engineering, and Growth teams, translating business questions into technical data requirements.
- • Stay abreast of emerging tools and techniques in product analytics and AI-driven analytics automation to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the analytics platform.
- • Contribute to infrastructure decisions involving GCP, GKE, Airflow, and data pipelines to ensure the analytics layer scales with BeReal’s growth to hundreds of millions of users.
🎯 Requirements
- • Expertise in analytics engineering, data engineering, or product analytics
- • Deep proficiency in SQL, dbt, and BigQuery
- • Strong experience with product analytics tools such as Amplitude
- • Experience building scalable data models and self-service analytics layers
- • Comfortable with Python and/or Go
- • Strong product sense and ability to partner effectively with Product Managers
