As a Staff Product Designer for the Breakout team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of crypto trading for experienced traders, institutions, and newcomers alike.
• • Breakout, a crypto-native prop trading platform backed by Kraken, is seeking a talented designer to embed within a cross-functional pod. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to enhance the Breakout experience, ensuring consistency with Kraken's Pro and Trading teams while modernizing Breakout's core product.
• • This is a highly technical and fast-paced environment where design is crucial for transforming complex trading systems into clear, intuitive, and high-performance user experiences. You will be instrumental in defining the evolution and modernization of Breakout's end-to-end product journey.
• • Your responsibilities will include defining scalable UX patterns for critical areas such as trading interfaces, account management, Know Your Customer (KYC) processes, and performance tracking. This requires a deep understanding of user needs within high-stakes financial environments.
• • You will lead the redesign and modernization of Breakout's core web and mobile experiences. This involves taking a strategic approach to updating existing interfaces and developing new ones that are both visually appealing and highly functional, catering to the demands of serious traders.
• • A key aspect of this role is simplifying complex financial and trading concepts. You will translate intricate data and workflows into clear, fast, and legible interfaces that empower users to make informed decisions quickly and efficiently.
• • You will actively drive product strategy alongside Product and Engineering teams. This means contributing to the 'what' we build, not just the 'how it looks,' influencing the direction of the product based on design thinking and user insights.
• • Establish and champion design systems, standards, and best practices that can scale across multiple teams. This ensures consistency, efficiency, and a high level of craft throughout the product development lifecycle.
• • Partner closely with the Marketing team to ensure seamless handoffs and cohesive user journeys from initial awareness through to active trading and beyond.
• • Embrace a culture of rapid iteration by prototyping and testing ideas quickly. You will balance the need for thorough discovery with the imperative of timely delivery in a dynamic market.
• • Raise the overall craft bar for design within the team through hands-on execution of design work and by providing mentorship to other designers, fostering a culture of excellence.
