- • As a Staff Product Designer focused on Design Systems at Airwallex, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our user experience by establishing and evolving a robust, scalable, and cohesive design system. This is a pivotal role where you will leverage your deep expertise in product design, component architecture, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure consistency, efficiency, and innovation across all of Airwallex's digital products.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to conduct comprehensive audits of our existing digital products, meticulously gathering use cases and identifying key UX patterns. This foundational work will inform the creation of reusable component and pattern definitions, designed to support a wide spectrum of user needs and business objectives. You will be the architect of consistency, ensuring that our design language is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional and adaptable.
- • A critical aspect of your role will involve identifying and rectifying inconsistencies in current component usage and design. You will proactively pinpoint deviations from the established design system, working diligently to bring all elements into alignment. This requires a keen eye for detail and a strategic approach to design governance.
- • Collaboration will be at the heart of your success. You will work hand-in-hand with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers across various teams to foster a shared understanding and ensure the widespread adoption of our standardized components and patterns. Your ability to communicate the value and intricacies of the design system will be crucial in driving this alignment.
- • You will partner closely with our engineering teams throughout the implementation process. - • A significant part of your contribution will be crafting clear, concise, and comprehensive guidelines for component and pattern usage. These guidelines will serve as the definitive resource for teams, empowering them to utilize the design system effectively and confidently. You will also be responsible for establishing and enforcing processes that govern the appropriate usage and ongoing maintenance of the design system, ensuring its long-term health and relevance.
- • You will act as a vocal champion for the design system within the organization. This involves articulating its value proposition, highlighting its advantages in terms of user experience enhancement and operational efficiency, and advocating for its seamless integration into all product development workflows. Your persuasive communication skills will be key to driving adoption and demonstrating the tangible benefits of a unified design approach.

🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience in product design, with a minimum of 2 years specifically focused on maintaining and evolving a design system.
- • A strong portfolio showcasing a deep understanding of product design principles, exceptional craftsmanship, and innovative solutions from initial concept through to successful launch.
- • Proficiency in UI design tools, with a strong emphasis on Figma, demonstrating the ability to create detailed mockups, prototypes, and design specifications.
- • Excellent methodical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective design solutions.
- • Bonus: Experience with content strategy and a foundational understanding of HTML/CSS.
