- • Develop production-ready APIs and services to expose AI functionality to internal and external applications within Lawhive’s AI-native legal platform.
- • Improve reliability, monitoring, and observability of AI-driven applications in production to ensure robust performance for legal use cases such as document analysis, case predictions, and automated legal advice.
- • Scale AI systems to handle high-volume, real-world legal workloads while maintaining low latency and high availability across the UK and US markets.
- • Collaborate closely with AI researchers and software engineers to deploy and integrate cutting-edge AI models and workflows into production environments.
- • Design and implement event-driven architectures using tools like Kafka, Pub/Sub, or AWS Step Functions to efficiently process large-scale asynchronous AI workloads.
- • Ensure compliance and security standards are upheld across all AI-driven legal services, adhering to regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions.
- • Build modularity and country-independent components into the core platform to support Lawhive’s international expansion, including recent launch in the US.
- • Invent new paradigms for human-AI interaction beyond traditional chat interfaces, enhancing the user experience for legal professionals.
- • Work with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) to architect, deploy, and manage scalable infrastructure supporting AI services and legal workflows.
- • Optimize performance of distributed AI systems and ML pipelines, ensuring efficient resource utilization and cost-effectiveness.
- • Partner with product teams to translate legal domain needs into technical requirements and deliver features that directly impact client outcomes.
- • Maintain and evolve infrastructure supporting vector databases, hybrid retrieval methods, and evaluation of retrieval quality for AI-powered legal search and reasoning.
- • Engage with agentic and orchestrated systems using frameworks like LangChain, AutoGen, Inngest, or Temporal to enable multi-step reasoning and tool-calling workflows powered by LLMs.
- • Integrate and iteratively evolve research outputs from AI teams into stable, production-grade systems with continuous feedback loops.
- • Contribute to the development of Lawhive Labs’ frontier technology stack, combining engineering, design, AI, and legal expertise to redefine legal service delivery.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong Python experience in building scalable backend systems.
- • Familiarity with API design & distributed systems architecture.
- • Experience working with event-driven architectures (e.g. Kafka, Pub/Sub, AWS Step Functions, etc.).
- • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP etc).
- • Understanding of best practices in observability, monitoring, and debugging.
