- • Join AlphaSense as a Staff Security Engineer, specializing in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCP DR), and play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization's operational resilience. In this critical position, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and continuously enhancing our BCP DR program, ensuring AlphaSense can effectively navigate and recover from disruptive events.
- • Reporting directly to the Director of Event Response, you will be entrusted with the execution of our overarching BCP DR strategy. This involves not just planning, but also taking ownership of the day-to-day operational facets of our continuity functions. Your expertise will be the driving force behind maintaining the seamless operation of our business, even in the face of unforeseen challenges.
- • This role demands a highly collaborative approach. You will work hand-in-hand with diverse teams across the organization, including Engineering, Infrastructure, Product Management, and Business Operations. By fostering strong cross-functional relationships, you will ensure that BCP DR considerations are deeply embedded into the fabric of our operations, from initial design to ongoing maintenance.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to develop and mature comprehensive BCP DR plans. This includes conducting thorough risk assessments, identifying critical business functions, defining recovery objectives (RTOs and RPOs), and establishing robust recovery strategies tailored to AlphaSense's unique operational landscape.
- • You will lead the implementation of BCP DR solutions, which may involve selecting and configuring appropriate technologies, developing automated recovery processes, and integrating BCP DR capabilities into our existing infrastructure and application stacks.
- • A key aspect of your role will be to establish and maintain a rigorous testing and exercise program. This involves designing realistic scenarios, coordinating and executing drills and simulations, and meticulously documenting the outcomes to identify areas for improvement and validate the effectiveness of our plans.
- • You will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training and awareness programs for employees at all levels. This ensures that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities during a disruptive event, fostering a culture of preparedness throughout the company.
- • You will continuously monitor the threat landscape and evolving BCP DR best practices. This proactive approach will enable you to recommend and implement necessary updates and enhancements to our BCP DR program, ensuring it remains relevant and effective.
- • You will act as a key responder during actual disruptive events, coordinating recovery efforts, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring the timely restoration of critical business functions.
- • This role requires a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, particularly within AWS or similar environments, as you will be responsible for ensuring the resilience of our cloud infrastructure and services.
- • You will contribute to the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures related to BCP DR, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- • You will maintain detailed documentation of all BCP DR plans, procedures, and test results, ensuring that this information is readily accessible and up-to-date.
- • The ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop practical, effective solutions is paramount. You will troubleshoot BCP DR challenges, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery programs, including risk assessment, plan development, testing, and maintenance.
- • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS preferred), networking, and application architectures, with a focus on resilience and high availability.
- • Experience with incident response and crisis management frameworks and methodologies.
- • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive consensus across diverse teams.
- • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
