📋 Description

• As a Staff Software Developer at Loopio, you will be at the forefront of innovation, architecting and building scalable, high-impact features for our cutting-edge web platform. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our product, driving architectural decisions, and ensuring the delivery of robust, user-centric solutions. • You will be responsible for leading the end-to-end development of complex features, from initial concept and design through to implementation and deployment. This involves deep collaboration with Product Managers and Product Designers in an agile environment, translating user needs and business requirements into elegant and efficient software solutions.
• A core aspect of this role is proactive bug prevention. You will champion best practices in code quality and testing, striving to build technology that anticipates and mitigates potential issues, ensuring a seamless and reliable user experience.
• You will engage directly with our customers to gather detailed feedback, gaining invaluable insights that will inform product development and ensure we are building solutions that truly meet their needs. This customer-centric approach is fundamental to our development philosophy.
• Architectural leadership is key. You will drive technical design discussions, influence system-level thinking across teams, and contribute to defining the long-term technical strategy for Loopio's platform. Your ability to articulate complex technical concepts and facilitate decision-making will be crucial.
• You will be instrumental in shaping Loopio's AI roadmap. This includes evaluating third-party AI models, optimizing the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs), and establishing technical guidelines for the development of AI-powered features. Your insights will help us harness the power of AI to deliver even greater value to our customers.
• Mentorship and knowledge sharing are integral to our culture. You will actively coach and guide other engineers, fostering an environment of continuous learning, constructive feedback, and collaborative problem-solving. This includes leading code reviews and sharing your expertise to elevate the entire engineering team.
• You will work within a dynamic technology stack that includes React for frontend development, Node.js, PHP, and Python for backend services, MySQL for database management, and leverages cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services (AWS) with tools such as Docker, Databricks, Chef, and Terraform for deployment and infrastructure management. Experience with Elasticsearch for search capabilities is also part of our ecosystem.
• This role requires close collaboration with teams located in Canada, the UK, and India. To facilitate effective communication and collaboration across these diverse time zones, you will be expected to work from 11 am to 7:30 pm IST.
• You will be a key contributor to our agile development process, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of designing and delivering complex software systems at scale.
• Strong experience in backend/API development with PHP, Python, or Java, coupled with solid frontend development experience using React and JavaScript.
• Proven ability to lead architectural discussions, influence cross-team technical decisions, and drive consensus in ambiguous situations.
• Experience with database design and RDBMS such as MySQL, and proficiency in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Exposure to AI technologies, particularly LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude), embeddings, or natural language processing, is highly valuable.
