- • Own the technical vision and architecture for ShareGate Backup, the fastest-growing backup & recovery product in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. You will shape how 100,000+ IT professionals protect their data across Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams, ensuring zero-downtime restores and bullet-proof compliance.
- • Lead a distributed, cross-functional squad of 6-8 engineers (backend, frontend, DevOps, QA) in a fully-remote environment spanning North America and Europe. You will drive quarterly OKRs, coach senior developers, and foster a culture of psychological safety where experimentation and rapid iteration are celebrated.
- • Design and deliver cloud-native features that process petabytes of customer data daily. Recent examples include immutable backup vaults, AI-powered anomaly detection, and incremental restore APIs that cut recovery times from hours to minutes.
- • Champion reliability and performance at scale. You will define SLOs, own on-call rotations, and implement chaos-engineering practices that keep our 99.99 % uptime promise while we double our data ingestion every six months.
- • Collaborate directly with Product, UX, and Customer Success to turn complex compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2) into elegant user experiences. Your code will be the difference between a frantic 3 a.m. restore and a single-click recovery that makes an admin a hero.
- • Contribute to the broader ShareGate engineering guild: run architecture guild sessions, open-source internal libraries, and publish post-mortems that raise the bar for the entire 150-person R&D organization.
- • Mentor the next generation of technical leaders through pair programming, design reviews, and career-lattice guidance. Your influence will ripple across multiple product lines as mentees rotate and share best practices.
- • Stay on the bleeding edge of Microsoft 365 APIs, Azure services, and data-protection regulations. You will prototype with Graph Delta APIs, evaluate Azure confidential computing, and translate emerging threats into defensive features before customers even know they need them.
- • Own the full lifecycle—from RFC to production to sunset—of critical services written in .NET 6, React, TypeScript, and Terraform on Azure Kubernetes Service. You will instrument everything with OpenTelemetry, drive blue-green deployments, and ensure every commit is behind a feature flag.
- • Translate customer pain into product delight. You will join customer calls, analyze NPS feedback, and prioritize engineering investments that turn detractors into promoters, directly impacting our net-revenue retention north of 110 %.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years shipping high-availability, cloud-native software at scale—ideally SaaS products processing terabytes or petabytes of data
- • Expert-level proficiency in C#/.NET or equivalent, plus deep experience with Azure (AKS, Cosmos DB, Event Hubs, Key Vault) or another major cloud
- • Demonstrated success designing zero-downtime distributed systems, including event sourcing, CQRS, and eventual consistency patterns
- • Nice-to-have: prior ownership of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or Salesforce backup/migration products; experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA; contributions to open-source projects in the data-protection or DevOps space
