• You will play a critical role in developing and enhancing features that enable users to celebrate milestones, recognize achievements, close deals, and express appreciation to clients through thoughtful, impactful gifts. Since our launch five years ago, Goody has become the trusted gifting solution for industry giants such as Google, Stripe, Meta, Anthropic, Notion, NBCUniversal, DHL, and many others. We believe that gifting, despite being a universal human practice, is an area ripe for disruption, and our mission is to lead this charge, spreading joy and positivity through our innovative technology.
• Our current technology stack comprises Ruby on Rails for the backend, React for the frontend, Tailwind CSS for styling, and PostgreSQL for our database. While proficiency in Ruby is not a prerequisite, we value extensive backend experience in any modern programming language, including but not limited to Node.js, Python, or similar technologies. A strong background in building complex Single Page Applications (SPAs) and robust API backends is essential. You will be responsible for writing code that strikes an optimal balance between development speed, long-term reliability, and high quality, ensuring our platform remains scalable and performant.
• The ideal candidate embodies a true startup mindset, demonstrating an exceptional ability to ship sizable features rapidly, often within a week or less. Our competitive advantage as a startup lies in our agility and speed, and we expect our engineers to operate at this accelerated pace, consistently outperforming their peers in code delivery. You possess a critical eye for detail and a deep understanding of user experience principles. In today's competitive landscape, superior design is not merely a desirable attribute but a fundamental requirement for success. While talented designers are crucial, it is the developers with an innate instinct for aesthetic appeal and functional excellence who truly elevate a product. • This role offers significant autonomy and ownership. You will be empowered to design technical architectures for new features from conception to deployment. As a full-stack engineer at Goody, you will have end-to-end responsibility for your projects, from initial technical design, considering appropriate trade-offs, to identifying and overcoming technical roadblocks. We encourage proactive problem-solving and expect you to contribute innovative solutions that drive our platform forward. You will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the high standards of our product's UI/UX, ensuring that every interaction is seamless, intuitive, and visually appealing. 🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack web application development.
• Backend experience in any language (e.g., Ruby, Node.js, Python, Java, Go) and frontend experience, preferably with React and TypeScript.
• Deep experience building complex Single Page Applications (SPAs) and API backends.
• Proven ability to write code that balances speed of development, reliability, and quality.
• Previous experience working in a startup environment is highly desirable.
