  • • As a Staff Software Engineer at CareDx, Inc., you will be at the forefront of developing and enhancing our cutting-edge precision medicine solutions, specifically focusing on Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) that are critical to the success of transplant patients and their caregivers.
  • • This pivotal role involves the comprehensive design, meticulous configuration, and strategic scaling of software solutions tailored to support intricate laboratory workflows, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • • You will leverage your deep expertise in LIMS platforms, such as Labbit, LabAdvantage, or similar systems, to translate complex clinical, molecular, and diagnostic laboratory operations into robust, reliable, and scalable software functionalities.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to act as a technical subject matter expert, bridging the gap between laboratory stakeholders and the engineering teams, ensuring that software solutions precisely meet the demands of real-world lab processes.
  • • You will collaborate closely with laboratory personnel to deeply understand their day-to-day operations, meticulously gathering requirements, mapping existing workflows, and implementing system configurations that drive significant improvements in both operational efficiency and data integrity.
  • • A key aspect of this role is the development and maintenance of custom extensions, integrations, and automation scripts that enhance the capabilities of our LIMS platforms, employing modern software engineering best practices to ensure maintainability and scalability.
  • • You will be instrumental in integrating the LIMS with a variety of upstream and downstream systems, including laboratory instruments, Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs), Electronic Health Records (EHRs/EMRs), data warehouses, and external APIs, creating a seamless data flow across the entire healthcare ecosystem.
  • • Ensuring that our systems adhere to stringent regulatory and compliance requirements, such as CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, and 21 CFR Part 11, will be a critical component of your work, safeguarding patient data and maintaining the integrity of our research and diagnostic processes.
  • • You will proactively review and optimize existing LIMS configurations, focusing on enhancing system scalability, improving performance metrics, and ensuring long-term maintainability and robustness.
  • • As a Staff Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing within the LIMS development team.
  • • Close collaboration with Quality Assurance (QA), DevOps, and Product Management teams will be essential to support the entire software development lifecycle, from rigorous testing and validation to seamless deployment and ongoing operational support.
  • • Your contributions will directly impact the quality of care for transplant patients by ensuring that the tools used in their diagnostic journey are state-of-the-art, reliable, and compliant.
  • • You will be empowered to drive innovation within the LIMS domain, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions that align with CareDx's mission to advance precision medicine.
  • • Success in this role means becoming a trusted technical partner for laboratory teams, ensuring that LIMS workflows are not only efficient and reliable but also scalable to meet future demands.
  • • You will be recognized for building integrations that function flawlessly, thereby minimizing manual effort and reducing the potential for errors in critical laboratory processes.
  • • Ultimately, your work will ensure that our systems effectively support compliance mandates without hindering the pace of innovation, enabling CareDx to remain at the forefront of the industry.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a company dedicated to improving the lives of organ transplant patients worldwide, contributing to a mission that has a profound and lasting impact.
