• • As a Staff Software Engineer, Backend at Joist AI, you will serve as a technical anchor and architectural leader for the company’s core backend systems, driving the evolution of scalable, resilient, and high-performing services that power an AI-driven platform for the AEC industry.
• • Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing and evolving backend services and APIs, leading complex technical challenges through hands-on engineering, mentoring and upskilling developers via pair programming and code reviews, defining engineering best practices for system design and observability, and aligning architecture with Product, Platform, and AI teams to bridge traditional web backends with machine learning workloads.
