  • • As a Staff Software Engineer, Emerging Markets at Ridealso Inc., you will serve as a hands-on technical leader responsible for owning the end-to-end software architecture and development across the vehicle and connected ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration of firmware, cloud, and application layers to deliver production-ready electric mobility solutions that advance the company’s mission of replacing inefficient car travel with affordable, enjoyable, and highly efficient small EVs.
  • • You will coordinate software delivery across internal teams and external partners by managing the development roadmap, aligning milestones with vehicle programs, overseeing firmware, cloud, and application development, resolving technical dependencies, and supporting system integration and release planning to ensure all workstreams converge into a cohesive, production-ready system.
  • • You will lead the design and ownership of the vehicle’s software architecture, including defining end-to-end architecture, designing firmware stacks for Vehicle Control Module (VCM) and Battery Management System (BMS), establishing secure interfaces between vehicle systems, cloud services, and applications, reviewing and contributing to embedded code, and guiding architectural decisions for scalability, reliability, and security.
  • • You will drive embedded systems development by leading firmware creation for VCM, BMS, power management, diagnostics, telemetry, sensor/actuator integration, and vehicle networking (e.g., CAN), working closely with hardware engineers to ensure tight hardware–software co-design for optimal performance and safety.
  • • You will define and implement the connected vehicle and IoT platform, including secure vehicle-to-cloud communication, telemetry and diagnostics pipelines, remote monitoring and control, fleet management integration, over-the-air (OTA) updates, charging ecosystem integration, and ensuring the platform is secure, scalable, and reliable.
  • • You will establish engineering standards and provide technical leadership by defining coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, simulation and validation environments, software quality processes, and release practices, while mentoring engineers and external partners to uphold high-quality development practices.
  • • You will integrate external partner contributions by defining technical interfaces, reviewing partner architecture and code, ensuring adherence to security and engineering standards, integrating externally developed modules, and supporting joint debugging and system integration efforts.
  • • You will drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools across the team, leveraging AI for code generation, automated test creation, static analysis, simulation-driven verification, and debugging to maximize productivity without compromising software quality or safety.
  • • You will deliver production-ready vehicle firmware and control systems, integrated BMS and power management software, a secure connected vehicle architecture, reliable OTA update capabilities, a fully integrated vehicle + cloud ecosystem, and a robust software development and validation pipeline that supports rapid, disciplined innovation.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Degree qualified with 5+ years of experience in embedded software, vehicle systems, robotics, or connected devices
  • • Strong experience with embedded firmware development, particularly in Embedded C/C++ and real-time embedded systems/RTOS
  • • Proven experience designing complex hardware-integrated software systems, including CAN or vehicle network architectures, firmware–hardware integration, and electric vehicle platforms
  • • Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering programs and balancing hands-on technical contributions with delivery leadership in startup-scale environments
  • • Familiarity with cloud-connected device platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), IoT connectivity platforms, OTA update systems, cybersecurity for connected devices, and Battery Management Systems (BMS)

🏖️ Benefits
