- • Own and evolve frontend systems across multiple product areas, ensuring consistency, quality, and scalability
- • Partner with engineering leadership, product, and design teams to shape frontend technical strategy and long-term direction
- • Lead high-impact initiatives including architectural evolution, performance improvements, and major UX foundations
- • Establish and uphold frontend standards for component design, state management, accessibility, and testing
- • Act as a force multiplier by guiding technical decisions, reviewing designs, and mentoring engineers
- • Help define how frontend engineering is practiced as the company scales
- • Build and scale frontend systems using JavaScript and React and/or React Native
- • Own complex UI systems or frontend platforms, not just individual features
- • Prioritize user experience, performance, and long-term maintainability in all frontend work
- • Operate effectively in ambiguity by defining problems, proposing solutions, and aligning stakeholders
- • Communicate clearly and influence technical direction across engineering and cross-functional teams
- • Mentor engineers and raise team-wide frontend quality without requiring formal people management responsibilities
- • Contribute to the development and maintenance of shared component libraries or design systems
- • Address mobile performance, accessibility, or internationalization challenges in product features
- • Work on products with real-world impact and high user trust
- • Collaborate with a team of senior engineers from Rippling, Stripe, DoorDash, and Faire
- • Embrace independence while maintaining strong team collaboration
- • Focus on outcomes rather than individual projects
- • Participate in remote-friendly work culture with office hubs in San Francisco, New York, Seattle, and Toronto
- • Engage in in-person company offsites to foster team alignment and culture
🎯 Requirements
- • Significant experience building and scaling frontend systems using JavaScript and React and/or React Native
- • Strong track record of owning complex UI systems or frontend platforms, not just individual features
- • Deep care for user experience, performance, and long-term maintainability
- • Ability to operate in ambiguity—defining problems, proposing solutions, and aligning stakeholders
- • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across teams
- • Experience mentoring engineers and raising team-wide frontend quality (people management not required)
