• • As a Staff Software Engineer on the Onboarding and Lifecycle Management (LCM) Platform team at Okta, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of identity management for millions of users worldwide. This pivotal role focuses on enhancing and managing the core services responsible for importing, synchronizing, and provisioning identities and access policies. You will be at the forefront of designing and implementing robust solutions for users, groups, roles, and entitlements, ensuring seamless integration and flexibility for our customers' business processes with Okta's leading identity management product.
• • Your responsibilities will span the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to implementation and maintenance of our high-scale platform. You will collaborate closely with senior engineering leaders on major development projects, contributing significantly to the architecture and execution of the LCM infrastructure. This is an opportunity to tackle complex challenges in building, designing, and maintaining reliable and performant systems at cloud scale.
• • A critical aspect of this role involves deep-diving into customer issues, leveraging your debugging skills to troubleshoot and resolve problems by analyzing logs from systems like Splunk and Syslogs. You will be responsible for designing and implementing new features, ensuring their quality through comprehensive functional and unit tests, and establishing robust monitoring and alerting mechanisms to maintain system health and performance.
• • You will actively participate in design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback and upholding high standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance. Performance tuning and optimization will be a continuous effort, ensuring our platform scales efficiently to meet growing demands. Quick prototyping will be essential to validate the scalability and performance of proposed solutions before full-scale implementation.
• • As a Staff Software Engineer, you are expected to provide technical leadership and mentorship to more junior engineers on the team. This includes guiding them through complex technical challenges, fostering their growth, and promoting best practices in software development. You will also serve as a key liaison, interfacing effectively with Architects, QA teams, Product Owners, Engineering Services, and Tech Ops to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
