- • As an AI Tutor - Statistics Specialist at xAI Corporation, you will directly contribute to the company’s mission of building AI systems that understand the universe by providing expert statistical inputs, labels, and annotations that train and refine cutting-edge AI models. Your work ensures that AI systems learn from high-quality, human-curated data in statistics, enabling them to reason accurately about probability, inference, and data-driven problems—critical capabilities for advancing general intelligence.
- • Day to day, you will use proprietary software to label and annotate statistical problems across domains such as probability theory, inferential statistics, regression modeling, multivariate analysis, stochastic processes, Bayesian methods, and experimental design; collaborate with technical staff to improve annotation tools and workflows; select and create challenging, expert-level statistics problems that push model capabilities; interpret and execute complex annotation tasks based on technical guidance; and ensure the delivery of rigorously curated data that meets xAI’s standards for quality and relevance.
- • You will join a small, highly motivated, and flat-organization team at xAI where initiative, hands-on contribution, and technical excellence are valued above hierarchy. 🎯 Requirements
- • Must have either a Master’s or PhD in Statistics (or Mathematics with a specialization in statistics/probability) OR a medal in an International Math Olympiad (IMO), International Statistical Olympiad, or equivalent competition.
- • Proficiency in reading and writing in both informal and professional English, with strong comprehension and the ability to exercise autonomous judgment when working with limited or ambiguous information.
- • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills, coupled with a strong passion for technological innovation and the ability to navigate complex information resources and databases effectively.
