- • As a Strategy and Ops Intern, you will be instrumental in building Alan Canada's operational engine. You will work closely with the Chief of Staff, tackling a diverse range of business challenges, including strategic planning for 2026, go-to-market (GTM) strategies, and operational efficiencies. A key aspect of your role will involve leveraging AI and automation to create a competitive advantage, enabling us to move faster, reach further, and build smarter.
- • This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects with lasting outcomes in the fast-paced world of health tech. While specific tasks may vary, your mission will be at the heart of our Canadian expansion.
- • **Possible Projects Include:**
- • **Strategy:** Conduct in-depth market analysis of the Canadian landscape, identifying key segments, verticals, and emerging opportunities. Support leadership on critical strategic projects, including market sizing, detailed analysis, and business case development. Proactively identify strategic business opportunities, perform rigorous business analyses, and develop sophisticated growth models.
- • **Product & Design:** Contribute to the evolution of Alan's product vision by identifying and exploring strategic product opportunities. Support the continuous improvement of Alan’s core offering through user research and feedback analysis. Assist in the design and prototyping phases of new product features and enhancements.
- • **Growth & Brand:** Support the planning and execution of events, sponsorships, and community engagement initiatives within the vibrant Toronto tech ecosystem. Help create compelling content that establishes Alan as a thought leader and the definitive voice of modern health benefits in Canada.
- • **Corporate & Governance:** Assist in the preparation of board packs, conduct legal research, and support senior leadership meetings, ensuring smooth corporate governance and strategic alignment.
- • **Talent:** Contribute to the talent acquisition process by assisting in sourcing and recruiting the next generation of exceptional individuals to join the Alan team.
- • **Examples of Past Intern Projects:**
- • **GTM Engineering:** Developed AI-powered workflows that significantly enhanced the GTM team's efficiency, including automations for outbound prospecting, reporting, and lead enrichment.
- • **Brand Building:** Played a key role in launching successful events and content initiatives within the Toronto tech ecosystem, including organizing founder dinners, managing sponsorships, and executing in-person events.
- • **Recurring Tasks & Support:** Coordinated weekly internal communications, provided essential support to the General Manager with meeting preparations, organized internal events, and assisted in the recruitment of subsequent intern cohorts, among many other diverse responsibilities.
- • **Product Innovation:** Prototyped internal tools designed to scale growth initiatives, experimented with cutting-edge AI tools, built small applications, and documented comprehensive playbooks for future reference.
