- • As a Systems Engineer on the Space Imaging team at Anduril Industries, you will play a critical role in defining and validating advanced electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) system architectures for spaceborne sensors that support national security missions. Your work will directly contribute to the development of cutting-edge imaging systems that enhance military situational awareness through autonomous, AI-powered sensing technologies.
- • Day to day, you will define system architectures via detailed trade studies and analyses, develop physics-based models of sensor performance, take ownership of prototype sensor system development in lab environments, support laboratory and field experiments, validate models against real-world data, and coordinate with hardware, software, and mission teams to integrate and deliver high-performance systems to customers.
- • You will join Anduril’s Space Imaging team, a specialized group within a defense technology company focused on transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking. The team is responsible for system architecture definition, trade analyses, and modeling/validating spaceborne EO/IR systems, operating at the intersection of aerospace, optics, and defense innovation.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in remote sensing, system engineering, and electro-optical design while gaining hands-on experience with advanced modeling tools (e.g., MODTRAN, SPIRITS, AFSIM), laser systems, and real-time embedded platforms. You will have the opportunity to lead small interdisciplinary teams and contribute to end-to-end system development from concept to delivery, advancing both your technical leadership and impact in national security technology.
🎯 Requirements
- • Model development and validation in one or more domains relevant to remote sensing
- • Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts with clearly defined interfaces and requirements
- • Experience in system design and development from initial concept through test and delivery to customer
- • Strong laboratory skills including rapid prototyping, design of experiments, and familiarity with opto-electrical test and measurement equipment
- • Willingness to travel to test sites as needed
- • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance
