📋 Description

• As a Tech Lead Manager for the Core Product Engine (Backend) at Jerry Technologies Inc., you will lead the evolution of the company’s critical automation systems that power the end-to-end insurance purchasing experience for over 5 million customers, ensuring reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance in a high-stakes, asynchronous environment.
• Day to day, you will spend 80% of your time in hands-on technical work, including refactoring legacy automation systems, designing decoupled and testable architectures, leading incremental improvements, and mentoring engineers while collaborating directly with the co-founder/CTO on product implementation.
• You will join a small, high-caliber team of ex-founders and builders who move fast, own outcomes, and thrive on solving complex problems with minimal bureaucracy, enabling rapid iteration and real-world impact.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, async state management, and AI-driven internal tooling, while shaping the technical foundation to scale Jerry.ai from 5M to 50M users through innovative, automation-first solutions.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience as a founder, lead architect, or technical leader in an early-stage startup environment
• Strong systems thinking with expertise in asynchronous job processing, state management, decoupling, and fault-tolerant design
• Proficiency in TypeScript, Nest.js, GraphQL, and AWS services (ECS/EKS, Lambda)
• Ability to lead hands-on technical work while mentoring and coaching engineers
• Deep curiosity and persistence in diagnosing edge cases and failure modes in complex business logic
