- • **Drive Client Success and Technical Integration:** As a Technical Account Manager (TAM) specializing in APIs at Coinbase, you will be the primary technical advisor for a portfolio of institutional trading clients. Your core responsibility is to ensure the seamless integration of these clients onto Coinbase's robust exchange and API platform. This involves a deep dive into their trading systems and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and optimizing their order flow. You will be instrumental in onboarding new market participants, resolving live trading issues with speed and precision, and guaranteeing the reliability of data exchange between client infrastructure and Coinbase's cutting-edge systems.
- • **Master API and Software Integration:** This role demands a high level of technical proficiency, particularly in working with APIs and software-driven financial products. You will be expected to provide expert guidance on API development and best practices across all Coinbase API suite product lines. This includes assisting clients in building sophisticated solutions on top of our platform, reviewing technical documentation, and troubleshooting complex integration challenges. Your ability to understand and navigate intricate software architectures will be crucial in supporting clients' technical needs.
- • **Cultivate Strong Institutional Client Relationships:** You will be responsible for developing and nurturing strong, effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within large institutional clients, such as hedge funds, asset managers, and major financial platforms. This involves understanding their unique business objectives and technical environments to provide tailored support. The success of new product launches and service testing hinges on the trust and rapport you build with these critical partners.
- • **Manage Technical Operations and Performance:** You will oversee the technical health and growth of Coinbase's technology and integrations within your assigned client book. This includes conducting detailed reviews of operational performance, analyzing key metrics, and transparently communicating any service disruptions to both internal management and external clients. You will act as the central point of contact for technical service escalations, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
- • **Facilitate Go-to-Market and Product Development:** Coordinate the go-to-market strategies for new product features, focusing on optimizing the customer experience and driving adoption. You will play a vital role in gathering product requirements directly from clients and championing these needs within Coinbase's Product and Engineering teams. By building a deep understanding of customer environments and operational constraints, you will ensure that client feedback is integrated into the product development lifecycle, leading to more robust and client-centric solutions. You will also work closely with product teams to provide clients with timely updates on the product roadmap.
- • **Troubleshoot and Escalate Critical Issues:** Assist Coinbase Engineers in diagnosing and resolving technical issues and service outages for your assigned accounts. When critical service outages occur, you will be responsible for escalating these issues to Coinbase senior management to ensure the fastest possible resolution and minimize client impact. Your ability to act decisively under pressure is paramount.
- • **Develop and Document Technical Solutions:** Create, document, and review the tools and resources necessary to effectively onboard clients and showcase new integrations and products via APIs and developed software. This includes developing scalable tactical and strategic solutions that address clients’ specific technical needs and bridge any gaps in their current infrastructure.
- • **Strategic Account Ownership:** You will own all technical and product initiatives for your assigned accounts. Working collaboratively with Sales and Account Management teams, you will focus on ensuring client retention and increasing the penetration of Coinbase's offerings within enterprise accounts. This requires a holistic view of the client relationship, from initial technical engagement to long-term strategic partnership.
- • **Comprehensive Client Coverage:** Maintain proactive relationships with a significant portfolio of clients, providing comprehensive Tier 1-3 technical support. Collaborate closely with Account Managers to map client organizational structures, identify key decision-makers, and establish effective technical operation touchpoints to ensure alignment and proactive engagement.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- • Proven expertise in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, including familiarity with digital asset infrastructure.
- • Extensive experience with enterprise software architecture, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS), and real-time data processing.
- • Hands-on experience with standard trading API protocols such as FIX, REST, WebSockets, and JSON RPC.
- • Experience integrating with traditional financial (TradFi) or crypto exchanges, particularly using the FIX protocol.
- • Deep understanding of market dynamics, participants, and trading strategies (e.g., futures, options).
- • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with C-level decision-makers.
- • Self-motivated with a strong desire to develop a deep understanding of Coinbase's product and technical stack.
- • Organized, analytical, and capable of distilling complex requirements into clear, actionable results.
