• • Playson is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Lead to spearhead the "Boosters" direction within our Promotional Features Tech Team. This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role focused on high-load, distributed, player-facing promotional features, including network promotions. As the Technical Lead, you will be instrumental in scaling Playson's promotional capabilities, personally contributing to the design, development, and deployment of production-ready features while also owning the technical vision and direction for the Boosters team. Performance, scalability, and unwavering reliability are paramount in this role, forming the bedrock of our player-facing systems.
• • The Boosters domain is responsible for a suite of engaging player-facing network promotional features that significantly enhance the player experience and drive engagement across our platform. These include, but are not limited to, dynamic Tournaments that foster competition and reward players, innovative Free Spins mechanics that add excitement and value, Progressive Jackpots that offer life-changing wins, and sophisticated Smart Prize Drop Systems that create unexpected moments of delight. Your technical leadership will directly impact the success and evolution of these critical features.
• • You will be an integral part of an end-to-end cross-functional squad, the Tech Boosters team, which comprises talented Full-stack & Backend Engineers, dedicated Automation QA and Manual QA specialists, and experienced Site Reliability Engineers (SREs). This collaborative environment also includes Product Boosters such as a Product Manager, a Product Designer, and a Product Analyst. Notably, there is no traditional Product Owner/PM within the squad. Instead, you will collaborate closely with a Product Commercial Manager who serves as the voice of the customer. This individual defines market needs, articulates the 'why' behind them, and specifies the required market velocity. Your technical team, under your leadership, will own the 'how' of the build and the 'when' of the delivery, fostering a culture of technical ownership and accountability.
• • In this 80% delivery / 20% team leadership capacity, you will be deeply involved in the entire software development lifecycle. This includes taking ownership of critical technical decisions, shaping the architecture of Boosters services, and personally contributing to the development of robust backend applications that power our promotional features. Your responsibilities will span the full spectrum of delivery: from initial technical design and proof-of-concept development to implementation, rigorous testing, seamless release, and ongoing operational support. You will be a key driver of delivery, ensuring that our solutions are not only functional but also performant, scalable, and reliable within a complex distributed environment.
• • A core aspect of your role will involve optimizing existing systems to meet the ever-increasing demands of our high-load, distributed architecture. This includes identifying performance bottlenecks, implementing scalable solutions, and ensuring the resilience of our services. You will champion a "PoC-first" approach, emphasizing rapid validation of ideas, measurement of outcomes, and subsequent hardening for production environments. This iterative methodology ensures that we build robust, well-tested features that deliver tangible value.
• • As a technical leader, you will set the bar for engineering excellence. This involves conducting thorough code and architectural reviews, establishing and enforcing engineering standards, and promoting best practices across the team. You will serve as the primary technical owner for the Boosters domain, meaning any technical challenge that arises within this area becomes your responsibility to address and resolve, naturally with the support and expertise of your team. Furthermore, you will actively participate in the on-call rotation, contributing to the continuous improvement of our operational capabilities through enhanced monitoring, effective alerting, comprehensive runbooks, and insightful incident reviews. Your commitment to operability will ensure the stability and availability of our player-facing systems.
