• • The Technical Operations Specialist (TOPS) role at Interactive Brokers is critical to ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of the company’s global brokerage systems, which serve clients in over 200 countries. This role directly supports the seamless execution of trades and financial operations by monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues in real time, making it essential to maintaining IBKR’s reputation as a #1 online broker.
• • Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring the health of applications, networks, and systems; analyzing and resolving operational issues; participating in post-incident reviews with development and infrastructure teams; providing 2nd-level technical support; monitoring batch jobs for delays or failures; analyzing workflows to develop process monitoring tools; acting as the primary escalation point for brokerage system issues; and investigating real-time trade issues with internal and external stakeholders.
• • The TOPS team operates within Interactive Brokers’ Global Technology division in Greenwich, CT, supporting a 24/7/365 mission-critical environment. The team collaborates closely with Software Development, Customer Service, and Infrastructure groups to ensure system reliability and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, innovation-driven financial technology company recognized for its cutting-edge platforms and global reach.
