- • Lead the execution of operational programs across Central Operations functions including Trust & Safety, Pay Operations, Allocation, and Contractor Management as an individual contributor.
- • Design, improve, and scale operational workflows using technical fluency and data-driven decision-making to increase efficiency and reduce friction in high-volume processes.
- • Collaborate directly with cross-functional teams including Legal, Finance, Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Delivery to translate business needs into clear requirements, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- • Independently investigate operational data using SQL to surface actionable insights, identify bottlenecks, and recommend process improvements.
- • Manage multiple concurrent programs or workstreams with precision, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables align with company goals.
- • Translate complex, unstructured real-world operational workflows into structured, scalable plans that can be implemented across global teams.
- • Document requirements, status updates, risks, and tradeoffs with clarity and precision to ensure alignment across stakeholders.
- • Drive progress and influence outcomes without formal authority by building trust and consensus among cross-functional partners.
- • Maintain a bias toward execution, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement in operational systems and team workflows.
- • Work closely with contractors and internal teams to ensure accurate payment processing, compliance, and quality control in data labeling operations.
- • Support the scaling of Handshake AI’s human data labeling business by optimizing processes that serve leading AI research labs and Fortune 500 employers.
- • Ensure operational programs align with company values and support the mission of building the career network for the AI economy.
- • Monitor key operational metrics and report on performance to leadership, using data to justify changes and prioritize initiatives.
- • Act as a bridge between technical teams and operational stakeholders to ensure systems and tools meet the needs of frontline workers and managers.
- • Maintain deep familiarity with the end-to-end lifecycle of data labeling operations, from contractor onboarding to quality assurance and payment disbursement.
- • Proactively identify risks in operational processes and implement mitigation strategies before they impact scale or compliance.
- • Contribute to the development of tools and systems that automate or streamline repetitive tasks within Central Operations.
- • Participate in cross-departmental initiatives to improve contractor experience, reduce attrition, and enhance data quality across AI training datasets.
- • Maintain rigorous attention to detail in all documentation, reporting, and process design to ensure accuracy and audit readiness.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2-4 years of experience in technical program management, operations, or a similar individual contributor role supporting cross-functional initiatives
- • Strong SQL and data analysis skills with ability to independently investigate operational data and surface actionable insights
- • Proven ability to manage multiple programs or workstreams simultaneously with strong attention to detail
- • Comfort working “in the weeds” of operational workflows and translating messy real-world processes into structured plans
