Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the reliability, security, and scalability of Profound’s identity, endpoint, and IT infrastructure systems as our first dedicated Technology Operations Engineer. You will be the single point of accountability for everything from a new hire’s first-day laptop to the SSO flows that gate our production AWS accounts.
- • Transform reactive IT support into proactive, automated systems that scale with our rapid growth. Instead of answering the same Slack ping twenty times, you’ll write the Python script, Terraform module, or Jamf policy that eliminates the question forever.
- • Triage and resolve technical incidents with a focus on automation and continuous improvement. When a developer can’t push code because their GitHub token expired, you’ll trace the failure across Google Workspace, Okta, and AWS IAM, then build a self-healing workflow so it never happens again.
- • Manage and troubleshoot macOS devices and development environments at scale. We issue Apple hardware to every employee; you’ll decide how Kandji or Jamf enforces disk encryption, software updates, and least-privilege access without slowing anyone down.
- • Build runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and internal documentation that elevate the entire team’s capabilities. Your Confluence pages will become the canonical source for “how we fix things” and “how we prevent them from breaking next quarter.”
- • Identify patterns in recurring issues and implement systematic fixes. If three engineers hit the same VPN DNS bug in a week, you’ll dig into the routing tables, open a PR against our Terraform network module, and ship the fix before the fourth ticket lands.
- • Lead cross-functional projects that address operational pain points: zero-touch device provisioning, automated access-control reviews, SOC 2 compliance evidence collection, and more. You’ll scope the work, pick the stack, and drive it to production.
- • Design self-service solutions that empower engineers to move faster. Imagine a Slack slash-command that spins up a sandbox AWS account with the right IAM roles, security groups, and budget alarms in under sixty seconds—that’s the bar you’ll set.
- • Translate complex technical issues for stakeholders across Engineering, People Ops, and Finance. When Finance asks why we need another SaaS identity tool, you’ll explain the ROI in terms of audit-readiness and engineering velocity.
- • Partner with Security to implement and maintain compliance controls without creating friction. You’ll map SOC 2 criteria to actual Terraform resources and prove continuous compliance with automated evidence pipelines.
- • Support our rapid hiring by streamlining onboarding and off-boarding workflows. On a new hire’s first morning, their laptop, email, Slack, GitHub, and AWS access should “just work,” and on their last day everything should be automatically revoked and archived.
- • Mentor future IT team members on troubleshooting methodology and systems thinking. You’ll set the culture of “measure twice, automate once” that scales beyond your own bandwidth.
- • Work in our Union Square office three to five days a week, collaborating in person with colleagues in NYC and remotely with teammates in San Francisco, London, and Buenos Aires. Your timezone overlap ensures incidents are handled 24/7 without burnout.
- • Contribute directly to a company defining a new category—AI brand visibility. Every system you stabilize or automate accelerates our ability to ship products that help Fortune 500 brands navigate the AI revolution.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years in IT Operations, Technical Support, or DevOps roles supporting engineering teams in high-growth SaaS or AI companies
- • Expert troubleshooting across the Apple ecosystem (macOS, iOS) and hands-on experience with an MDM platform such as Kandji, Jamf, or Fleet
- • Advanced Google Workspace administration including SAML/OIDC, SCIM lifecycle automation, and least-privilege access design
- • Multi-cloud support experience with AWS as the primary platform; familiarity with GCP or Azure is a plus
- • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python or Bash to eliminate repetitive tasks and integrate disparate systems
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary of $120,000–$170,000 plus equity in a Sequoia-backed Series B AI startup
- • Hybrid work culture anchored in our Union Square office with catered lunches, high-end hardware, and ergonomic setups
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plus a monthly wellness stipend
- • Annual professional-development budget and conference attendance to keep your skills ahead of the curve
