  • • As a Technology Presales Consultant at Toptal, you will be instrumental in driving revenue growth by expertly bridging the gap between our sales teams and prospective enterprise and SMB clients. Your primary role will be to architect, articulate, and position complex technology solutions, encompassing software, cloud services, and professional or managed services, ensuring they precisely align with customer business objectives and technical environments.
  • • You will act as the crucial technical advisor and solution architect throughout the sales cycle, engaging directly with clients to understand their unique challenges, strategic goals, and existing technological infrastructure. This involves conducting in-depth needs assessments, asking insightful, probing questions to uncover pain points, and meticulously documenting requirements to inform the development of tailored solutions.
  • • A core responsibility is to translate these intricate business and technical requirements into compelling, value-driven technology propositions. You will collaborate closely with internal technical experts, including engineers and product managers, to design bespoke solutions. This includes defining software configurations, architecting cloud environments, establishing integration frameworks, and structuring effective managed service models.
  • • Your expertise will be vital in developing comprehensive technical proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and persuasive presentations. You will lead the pricing and scoping discussions, ensuring that proposed solutions are not only technically sound but also commercially viable, competitive, and profitable for Toptal.
  • • A significant part of your role involves translating highly complex technical concepts into clear, understandable business value for a diverse range of client stakeholders, including C-level executives and non-technical decision-makers. You will be adept at showcasing how Toptal's offerings can directly address client challenges and drive desired business outcomes.
  • • You will partner strategically with Account Executives and Sales Directors, contributing to the development of robust sales strategies and pursuit plans. As the designated technical subject matter expert (SME), you will actively participate in client meetings, presentations, and discussions, providing authoritative technical guidance and building client confidence.
  • • Your support will extend to responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs), crafting technically accurate content and articulating the unique value proposition of Toptal's solutions. You will also play a key role in facilitating Proofs of Concept (POCs), product demonstrations, and client workshops, effectively showcasing the capabilities and benefits of our technology offerings.
  • • Delivering customized product and solution demonstrations that resonate with the client's specific environment and use cases will be a regular activity. You will skillfully present technical solutions in business terms, highlighting competitive advantages and enabling clients to visualize the tangible results and ROI they can expect.
  • • Internally, you will foster strong collaboration with delivery, product management, and engineering teams to guarantee that proposed solutions are executable and align with Toptal's delivery capabilities. You will serve as a vital feedback loop, relaying insights from client engagements back to internal teams to inform product enhancements, service improvements, and pricing model adjustments.
  • • Maintaining and updating essential sales enablement resources, such as solution playbooks, demo environments, and proposal templates, will be part of your contribution to team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • • You will diligently manage your sales activities within the CRM system, such as Salesforce, ensuring opportunities are accurately tracked, deal stages are updated, and key client interactions are logged for comprehensive record-keeping and pipeline management.
  • • Continuous professional development is expected; you will stay abreast of the latest industry trends, competitor landscapes, and emerging technologies relevant to your solution portfolio, actively participating in internal training to deepen your technical and solution expertise.
  • • Your first week will focus on seamless onboarding into Toptal's unique culture and operational framework, including introductions to key colleagues across sales, talent, and operations teams.
  • • Within your first month, you will gain a deep understanding of Toptal's delivery model, shadow experienced colleagues on client pursuit calls, and begin contributing to the creation of pursuit decks.
  • • Over the first three months, you will transition from shadowing to actively leading pursuit deals in collaboration with your manager, exercising independent judgment and discretion.
  • • By the six-month mark, you are expected to be independently leading client pursuit calls and qualifying client projects for Toptal Teams.
  • • Within your first year, you will manage your own portfolio of pursuits, working closely with both SMB and Enterprise clients to drive conversion and achieve significant revenue growth.
  • • This role demands a world-class individual contributor who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative, and fully remote environment, contributing directly to Toptal's success without relying on managing others.
