Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead the architecture and strategic development of the next-generation production test platform for InP-based gain chips and DFB lasers, scaling capacity 10x over 18 months.
- • Design and implement automated test stations for die-level, burn-in, and CoC outgoing QC, including mechanical fixtures, optical alignment (lensed fiber and free-space), TEC stages, electrical interfaces, and environmental control systems.
- • Develop production-grade test software for instrument control and automation, ensuring robust failure handling, traceability to wafer and chip IDs, and integration with MES and wafer history databases.
- • Define SQL schema structures and Parquet sidecar files for production data capture to enable advanced yield analytics and statistical process control.
- • Establish and enforce code quality standards across the test team, including version control practices, code reviews, and comprehensive documentation.
- • Execute DOE and qualification methodologies for new fixtures, new product introductions, and process changes using GR&R, Cpk, station-to-station t-tests, and drift monitoring.
- • Serve as the technical authority on gain chip and laser test methodology across all production sites, providing hands-on leadership at the bench, keyboard, and whiteboard.
- • Collaborate with R&D and process engineering teams to optimize test flow performance, station-to-station correlation, throughput, MTBF, and calibration cadence.
- • Own the technical defense of Certificate of Conformance (CoC) data with key customers, resolving correlation gaps between internal test results and customer measurements.
- • Lead root-cause investigations for outgoing quality escapes, tracing failures back through the entire test flow to identify systemic issues.
- • Manage a small team of test engineers and technicians, providing technical mentorship and day-to-day supervision.
- • Develop and maintain the capital roadmap for test infrastructure, aligning equipment investments with production scaling goals and yield improvement targets.
- • Ensure all test systems meet stringent reliability and repeatability standards required for high-speed optical communication components.
- • Participate in cross-functional teams to integrate test data with yield analytics platforms and drive continuous improvement in production efficiency.
- • Maintain compliance with industry-standard test protocols and documentation practices for semiconductor and photonics manufacturing environments.
