• • As a Trade Surveillance Associate at Coinbase, you will play a critical role in upholding the integrity and trustworthiness of our trading platform. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct ongoing trade surveillance, ensuring that all trading activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies. This involves a proactive approach to monitoring markets, identifying and investigating any suspicious trading behaviors, and leveraging advanced surveillance technologies to maintain a secure and fair trading environment.
• • You will be instrumental in the daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring of trade surveillance activities. This includes developing, implementing, and refining surveillance reports to effectively detect potential anomalies and risks. Your keen eye for detail will be essential in reviewing and investigating alerts generated by our sophisticated surveillance systems, ensuring that any flagged activities are properly escalated and addressed in a timely manner.
• • A significant aspect of your role will involve supporting new asset launches. This includes meticulously monitoring market depth and liquidity in relation to other assets and exchanges. You will also perform comprehensive market assessments for new asset launches and re-launches following trading halts, providing crucial insights to mitigate risks and ensure smooth market operations.
• • Beyond core surveillance duties, you will contribute to broader Compliance functions as needed. This requires staying informed about evolving regulatory landscapes and market structure changes that could impact our markets and the effectiveness of our surveillance program. Your ability to adapt and integrate these changes into our existing framework will be vital.
• • You will collaborate closely with engineering and support teams to identify opportunities for process efficiencies and improvements within the surveillance systems and workflows. This cross-functional partnership will drive innovation and enhance the overall effectiveness of our compliance operations.
• • A key responsibility is to enforce and enhance policies and procedures related to Coinbase Trading operations and Trading Rules. You will engage with various Coinbase personnel to ensure a thorough understanding and adherence to Coinbase Trading Policies, fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
• • You will work collaboratively with other key compliance individuals and different Coinbase business lines to conduct thorough compliance investigations. This requires strong communication and analytical skills to gather information, assess findings, and contribute to resolution.
