📋 Description

• Support the Art Director in ideating and executing the visual vision for Paper.io 2, ensuring alignment with gameplay and brand identity.
• Develop and optimize user experience (UX) flows for both new and existing in-game features to enhance player engagement and usability.
• Create and maintain a comprehensive UI Style Bible and reusable component libraries to ensure visual consistency across all game elements.
• Design high-quality 2D UI assets including menus, HUDs, buttons, icons, and other interface elements optimized for performance on mobile devices.
• Collaborate closely with Game Designers and the Product Team to ensure UI elements directly support core gameplay mechanics and accessibility requirements.
• Rapidly iterate on UI designs based on feedback from internal teams and live user data to improve retention and satisfaction.
• Propose creative, data-informed ideas to increase player engagement, streamline navigation, and elevate overall user experience.
• Ensure all UI assets are technically optimized for smooth performance across a wide range of mobile hardware and screen resolutions.
• Maintain visual coherence and stylistic integrity across all UI components, adhering to established design standards and evolving brand guidelines.
• Work within a small, high-performing Live Games team that owns end-to-end development from concept to live iteration.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and asset pipelines to support scalable, efficient production.
• Stay informed on emerging trends in mobile gaming UI/UX and apply insights to enhance the design direction of Paper.io 2.
• Communicate design decisions clearly and effectively to cross-functional teams, including remote collaborators across global studios.
• Translate abstract gameplay concepts into intuitive, visually compelling interfaces that are accessible to a global, diverse player base.
• Deliver pixel-perfect assets and documentation that enable seamless handoff to developers and QA teams.
• Participate in design reviews and playtesting sessions to refine UI based on real player behavior and feedback.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years experience as a UI/UX Artist on shipped mobile games
• Experience designing in Figma
• Excellent design skills with a keen eye for visual hierarchy, composition, and readability
• Ability to design, document, and execute a consistent UI visual language
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional remote teams
• Fluent in English
