- • Availity is a leading healthcare technology company dedicated to empowering healthcare professionals and organizations. We are on a mission to simplify healthcare operations, allowing providers to focus on patient care. As the premier healthcare engagement platform, we connect over 2 million providers with health plans and process more than 13 billion transactions annually, making a significant impact on the industry.
- • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated UI Software Engineer III to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team. This role is crucial for developing, maintaining, and migrating our Onboarding applications and services. You will be instrumental in enhancing our core solutions and facilitating the transition of existing software to the cloud.
- • In this position, you will collaborate closely with Product Owners and the Software Engineering Tech Lead, contributing significantly to the team's engineering objectives. The role is structured to be approximately 80% hands-on development and 20% mentoring junior developers, offering a unique opportunity to both contribute technically and guide emerging talent.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the healthcare industry and demonstrable experience in delivering AWS cloud solutions. We are looking for an engineer who is comfortable diving deep into code, providing technical leadership, and mentoring junior engineers. You will be empowered to innovate, propose new ideas, and enhance the system's analytical capabilities while showcasing your expertise in designing and developing scalable, evolving backend systems.
- • This team is at the forefront of designing and delivering robust cloud-based solutions. As the UI Software Engineer III, you will play a pivotal role in driving the engineering efforts for our Platform. With the anticipated growth of our Platform over the next two years, this individual will be key in shaping and guiding that expansion.
- • Your responsibilities will include leading Onboarding engineers and serving as an expert in the delivery of complex software solutions from design through deployment and maintenance. You will formulate architectural strategies for solutions that will initially support clinical document evaluation dashboards, with the flexibility to evolve and support future dashboard needs.
- • You will collaborate with product owners and other technology leaders to define and implement industry-leading healthcare processes. This includes coordinating software engineering efforts across the Onboarding teams, providing leadership, and guiding the delivery of cross-team data pipelines.
- • Establishing expertise in Onboarding processes is essential. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the overall system architecture and clearly define the role of User and Organization systems within the broader Onboarding framework.
- • You will be responsible for determining functional and non-functional requirements for the continuous evolution of the team's Onboarding products and services. Working closely with product and user experience professionals, you will lead the design and development of well-crafted user interfaces.
- • Facilitating discussions, clearly communicating, and documenting software solutions and designs for both technical and business audiences will be a key aspect of this role. You will be adept at identifying open-ended problems, consistently devising effective solutions, and contributing to critical technical decisions impacting the team.
- • You will work independently, providing technical guidance on software engineering needs across the organization and staying abreast of the latest advancements in software engineering technology. Your goal will be to become a recognized expert in applying tools and processes to solve complex and unique challenges.
- • Furthermore, you will actively participate in developing new strategies to boost engineer productivity and reduce the time-to-market for complex software solutions. This includes a strong proactive, customer mindset for issue resolution and a desire to drive complex projects while exploring new areas of the Platform.
- • You will leverage your significant experience with agile/scrum development processes, working closely with scrum masters to continuously refine team processes. Experience with production troubleshooting using industry APM tools such as Splunk, New Relic, or Datadog is also expected.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of healthcare technology, contribute to a mission-driven organization, and grow your career within a supportive and innovative environment. You will be part of a certified "Great Place to Work" that values diversity, continuous learning, and employee well-being.
