- • Manage and direct all business activities related to direct and non-direct access casualty underwriting programs to ensure profitability and strategic growth.
- • Lead, organize, and supervise a multi-person underwriting team to achieve long-term program goals and exceed production targets set by CRC.
- • Develop and implement strategic goals, objectives, and management structures that ensure program stability, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- • Exercise full budgetary control over assigned programs, including financial forecasting, expense monitoring, and profit optimization.
- • Serve as the primary point of contact for underwriting, production, and client relationship management across agents, brokers, carriers, and internal departments.
- • Monitor and ensure adherence to all internal underwriting guidelines and external regulatory requirements for all covered accounts.
- • Recruit, cultivate, and retain new clients while actively servicing existing client relationships to drive business expansion and renewal rates.
- • Evaluate product and service marketability to align offerings with customer needs, industry trends, and competitive dynamics.
- • Maintain current knowledge of casualty insurance market trends, target markets, and competitor activity to inform underwriting and marketing decisions.
- • Develop targeted marketing materials, distribution strategies, and messaging that align with corporate-wide marketing objectives.
- • Provide market intelligence and underwriting expertise to maximize policy renewals and retention metrics.
- • Promote and support ongoing professional development for self and team through continuing education initiatives.
- • Establish and maintain clear, consistent leadership practices to foster employee growth, model strong performance standards, and build team capacity.
- • Travel as required to meet with clients, agents, and brokers to support business development and client servicing needs.
- • Work extended hours as necessary to meet business deadlines, manage underwriting cycles, or respond to urgent client or regulatory matters.
- • Analyze complex insurance, accounting, and regulatory data to make informed underwriting decisions and ensure financial compliance.
- • Foster excellent working relationships across all levels of the organization, including internal corporate teams, external partners, and field agents.
- • Ensure all underwriting practices reflect a strong foundation of integrity, compliance, and risk management principles.
