- • Build and prototype AI-native product interfaces across web and mobile platforms, focusing on interaction models that do not yet have established conventions.
- • Create functional prototypes of novel HCI interactions including streaming responses, multi-step task flows, real-time feedback loops, and system state visibility to enhance user understanding of AI behavior.
- • Translate abstract design concepts into working, production-ready code with meticulous attention to usability, responsiveness, motion, and performance.
- • Experiment with UI patterns that clearly communicate AI progress, uncertainty, confidence levels, failures, and recovery mechanisms to users in real-world workflows.
- • Design interfaces that empower users to supervise, correct, and redirect AI behavior without requiring micromanagement or overwhelming cognitive load.
- • Collaborate closely with product, design, and machine learning teams to rapidly validate and iterate on interaction ideas through prototyping and user testing.
- • Contribute to the frontend architecture by developing reusable, scalable UI components tailored for AI-driven product surfaces.
- • Identify, diagnose, and resolve usability issues, performance bottlenecks, and state management flaws specific to dynamic, non-deterministic AI interfaces.
- • Ensure interfaces maintain clarity and functionality under varying conditions of AI model output, including incomplete, conflicting, or erroneous responses.
- • Advocate for user-centered design principles at the intersection of engineering and human-computer interaction, prioritizing trust, control, and transparency in every interaction.
- • Work autonomously in ambiguous environments with incomplete specifications, rapidly prototyping solutions to test hypotheses and inform product direction.
- • Maintain high standards of code quality and user experience while operating in a fast-paced, small-team environment where decisions are made collectively and execution is independent.
- • Bridge the gap between design intent and engineering implementation without relying on rigid handoff processes, acting as a dual advocate for both user needs and technical feasibility.
- • Contribute to the evolution of internal design systems and component libraries to support consistent, reliable AI interactions across multiple product surfaces.
- • Participate in end-to-end delivery of features—from initial concept and prototyping through testing, refinement, and deployment—with a focus on real-world task completion and persistent context.
- • Maintain awareness of emerging HCI research and industry innovations in AI interaction design, applying insights to improve product usability and user satisfaction.
- • Prioritize user clarity over technical novelty, ensuring that complex AI behaviors are made accessible, predictable, and controllable for everyday users.
- • Embrace rapid iteration cycles and feedback loops to continuously refine interaction patterns based on user behavior and system performance data.
- • Operate with a mindset of ownership over the end-to-end user experience, treating each interface as a direct conduit between the user and AI intelligence.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong frontend engineering skills in React, TypeScript, or equivalent
- • Experience building interaction-heavy or experimental interfaces
- • Strong product and UX instincts — ability to identify unclear or broken user experiences
- • Ability to prototype rapidly in ambiguous environments with incomplete specs
- • Understanding of animation, responsiveness, frontend architecture, and UI performance
