- • As a Virtual Financial Consultant at TIAA, you will be at the forefront of empowering individuals to achieve their financial aspirations through expert virtual guidance. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive counseling to a diverse clientele, including current participants, new entrants, prospective clients, beneficiaries, and their legal and financial representatives. You will navigate the complete spectrum of TIAA's extensive product and service offerings, ensuring clients receive tailored advice to meet their immediate needs and long-term financial goals.
- • Your responsibilities will extend to institutions aligned with regional structures, offering personalized financial planning advice through various virtual channels such as phone and video chat. This client-centric approach is designed to foster financial well-being and security for all individuals associated with TIAA.
- • During your initial training period, you will immerse yourself in TIAA's robust product suite and the intricacies of the Virtual Financial Consultant role. This phase is structured as a non-exempt position, meaning you will be compensated on an hourly basis and will be eligible for overtime pay, allowing you to gain comprehensive experience and knowledge.
- • Upon successful completion of the training period, the role transitions to an exempt status. You will continue to receive compensation at the same rate, with your weekly salary calculated based on your hourly rate multiplied by 40 hours. Post-training, you will no longer be eligible for overtime pay, reflecting the increased autonomy and responsibility of the role.
- • A critical aspect of this role is the acquisition of necessary financial licenses. All required FINRA registrations (Series 7 and Series 63) and state Life and Health Insurance Licenses must be obtained within 120 days from your start date. TIAA will support you in this process, recognizing the importance of these credentials for providing expert financial advice.
- • You will be instrumental in counseling participants on their pension plans, tax-deferred annuities, and a wide array of other investment options. Your expertise will guide clients in retaining and increasing their assets, ensuring a secure financial future.
- • A key duty involves educating clients, recommending, and facilitating the purchase of new products. This includes a broad range of offerings such as retail mutual funds, annuities, IRAs, 529 plans, 403b plans, bank products, and life insurance. You will serve as an authoritative source of information, enabling clients to make well-informed personal financial planning decisions.
- • You will engage directly with retirement plan participants, delivering exceptional customer service and efficiently executing transaction and service requests. Building trust and rapport through consistent, high-quality interactions is paramount.
- • Leveraging your knowledge of tax and investment strategies, you will provide insightful financial advice that is precisely aligned with each client's unique financial needs, objectives, and risk tolerance.
- • Collaboration is essential. You will communicate effectively with internal cross-business partnerships to contribute to the development and implementation of TIAA products and services. This ensures that TIAA remains at the forefront of financial solutions, supporting both clients and overarching company initiatives.
- • Furthermore, you will cultivate and maintain strong, productive relationships with Institutional Plan Sponsors. Your ability to understand their needs and effectively communicate TIAA's value proposition will be crucial for fostering long-term partnerships and expanding TIAA's reach.
- • This role demands a proactive approach to client engagement, a deep understanding of financial markets, and a commitment to ethical conduct. You will be empowered to make a significant impact on the financial lives of individuals, contributing to TIAA's mission of building a more secure financial future for all.
