📋 Description

• As a Virtualization Engineer II at Hims & Hers Health, Inc., you will play a critical role in powering the infrastructure behind a leading telehealth platform that is transforming healthcare accessibility by ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable virtualized environments that directly support patient-provider connections.
• Your work will directly impact the stability and performance of systems that enable affordable, personalized care delivery, making you a key contributor to the company’s mission of normalizing health and wellness challenges through innovative technology solutions.
• You will design, implement, maintain, and optimize virtualized and on-premise infrastructure across VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, AWS, and Azure environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security for core organizational systems supporting telehealth operations.
• Daily responsibilities include monitoring VM and network systems for optimal performance, troubleshooting inefficiencies and errors, standardizing server and storage virtualization deployments, and maintaining High Availability configurations using technologies like VMotion, VCenter HA, and Hyper-V Live Migration.
• You will develop and maintain SOPs, best practice documentation, and hardening guides, while owning predictable system patching schedules to ensure compliance and operational resilience in a regulated healthcare environment.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams—including engineering, security, and IT operations—will be essential to align infrastructure architecture with business needs, security standards, and the dynamic demands of a growing telehealth platform.
• You will provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers, guiding them in optimizing network and server environments to support uninterrupted healthcare services and innovation.
• Proactively evaluating and implementing security measures specific to healthcare data protection, conducting infrastructure assessments, and staying current with industry trends will be key to enhancing the company’s security posture and service quality.
• You will collaborate with vendors, respond to infrastructure emergencies, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure seamless user experiences and uphold the organization’s commitment to patient well-being.

• This role offers the opportunity to grow your expertise in hybrid cloud and on-premise virtualization, deepen your knowledge of healthcare-specific compliance and security frameworks, and influence architectural decisions that improve reliability and operational efficiency at scale.
• You will gain hands-on experience with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) platforms like Netskope and Zscaler, scripting and automation tools (JSON, YAML, Ansible), and architecture design software such as Visio, while contributing to a public company committed to equitable hiring practices and reasonable accommodations for all qualified individuals.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred but not required)
• 5+ years of data center, server, and/or storage engineering experience
• Expertise in traditional server virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure)
• Experience with VMware audits, utilization, NIC teaming, and server/storage security in a healthcare context
• Proficiency in server monitoring, troubleshooting, change management, and communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers, with strong problem-solving skills in healthcare innovation environments
• Familiarity with ZTNA platforms (Netskope, Zscaler), scripting (JSON, YAML, Ansible), and architecture tools (Visio) as a plus
