📋 Description

• The Visual Storytelling & AI Innovation Lead partners with the Chief of Staff to the CFO to transform OpenAI Finance’s most important work into clear, visually compelling executive artifacts, including CFO-facing presentations, board materials, executive briefings, and customer-facing content, while establishing a high bar for visual storytelling and design systems across the organization.
• Day to day, the role involves leading and scaling OpenAI’s 'OpenAI on OpenAI' program in Finance by identifying high-impact back-office workflows, experimenting with AI capabilities, driving adoption, and elevating flagship use cases with measurable operational value; designing CFO-facing materials for leadership, board, and customer engagements; turning internal AI work into credible narratives, demos, and transformation stories; and partnering with Global Affairs, Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, and Marketing to amplify Economic Research and Finance content for internal and external audiences.
• The Finance organization at OpenAI is building the finance team of the future by leveraging OpenAI’s own products to reshape workflows, improve operating leverage, and surface practical lessons about AI adoption in enterprise functions, serving as both a proving ground for real-world AI use and a feedback loop for Product, Research, and Revenue teams.
• In this role, the individual will develop deep expertise in translating complex Finance and AI workflows into influential stories, build durable cross-functional feedback loops, shape how OpenAI communicates enterprise AI adoption, and gain hands-on experience at the intersection of finance, AI, design, and go-to-market strategy—directly influencing how the company builds, operates, and scales.

🎯 Requirements

• Exceptional executive storytelling and visual design skills, with the ability to synthesize complex ideas into compelling presentations, briefing materials, and visual narratives tailored to senior audiences.
• Ability to quickly understand complex Finance and operating workflows and distinguish meaningful, scalable AI use cases from superficial demos.
• Strong translation skills between operators, executives, product teams, researchers, and go-to-market partners, turning ambiguity and cross-functional inputs into clear narratives, recommendations, and next steps.
• Highly pragmatic and outcome-oriented mindset with strong judgment about what is genuinely useful and scalable versus merely interesting in theory.
• Hands-on, execution-minded approach—comfortable building decks, designing briefings, shaping visual narratives, synthesizing workflows, and pressure-testing use cases personally.
• Deep curiosity about how AI reshapes enterprise functions and a strong point of view on creating practical value inside complex organizations through AI.
