📋 Description

• • As VP, Head of Data at Cars.com Inc., you will lead the enterprise data organization through a critical phase of modernization and integration, unifying Data Engineering, Data Science, Revenue Analytics, and Business Intelligence into a cohesive, high-performing function that drives architectural stabilization, governance clarity, and improved decision velocity across the company.
• • You will own enterprise data strategy, governance, and risk; define and execute a multi-year enterprise data roadmap; establish a trusted single source of truth for core metrics; align data capabilities to support marketplace growth and revenue expansion; and ensure data accuracy, availability, security, and compliance through pragmatic governance frameworks.
• • You will report to the CTO and partner closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, serving as the executive integrator across data pillars to align technical architecture with business priorities, advise on data-related capital allocation and technology investments, and recruit, develop, and retain top-tier data leadership talent.
• • In this role, you will learn to lead enterprise-scale data transformation at a scaled digital marketplace, achieve measurable business value within the first 6 months, institutionalize trusted data into planning and decision-making processes by Year 1, and establish a modern, scalable data platform as a competitive advantage by Year 2+, all while fostering a culture of acceleration and data democratization across the organization.
