  • • Embark on a rewarding journey as a Working Student in Accounts Payable (AP) at AMBOSS, a leading innovator in medical education and clinical decision support. This role offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the financial operations of a rapidly growing, mission-driven company, directly contributing to our global objective of empowering physicians worldwide. You will be an integral part of our dedicated Accounting team, playing a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency that underpins our success.
  • • As a Working Student in AP, your primary responsibilities will revolve around the meticulous processing and verification of financial transactions. You will be entrusted with reviewing and processing employee travel expenses, ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures. This involves a keen eye for detail as you reconcile submitted expense reports with supporting documentation, such as receipts and invoices, to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will involve the accurate coding of financial transactions. You will learn to assign appropriate general ledger accounts, VAT codes, and cost centers to ensure that our financial records are precise and aligned with our chart of accounts. This task is critical for accurate financial reporting and analysis, providing you with a foundational understanding of accounting principles in practice.
  • • Effective communication is key in this position. You will regularly interact with employees across various departments to resolve discrepancies in expense reports, clarify payment inquiries, and gather any missing information. This interaction will hone your communication skills and provide insight into the broader organizational context of financial processes.
  • • Your commitment to compliance will be paramount. You will ensure that all processed transactions meet internal policies and generally accepted accounting principles, contributing to a robust internal control environment. This exposure will build a strong understanding of financial governance and regulatory requirements.
  • • Beyond routine tasks, you will actively support the broader Accounting team with ad hoc projects and assignments. This could involve assisting with month-end close activities, participating in process improvement initiatives, or contributing to special financial analyses. These opportunities will broaden your experience and expose you to diverse accounting functions.
  • • We encourage a proactive approach to process improvement. You will be empowered to identify opportunities to streamline and enhance our existing accounting processes, making them more efficient and effective. Your fresh perspective as a student will be highly valued in this endeavor, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
  • • This role provides invaluable hands-on experience with industry-standard accounting tools and our internal financial systems. You will gain practical proficiency in using software that is essential for modern accounting practices, enhancing your technical skillset and marketability.
  • • By joining AMBOSS, you are not just taking on a job; you are becoming part of a global movement dedicated to improving healthcare. You will witness firsthand how meticulous financial management enables us to scale our impact and reach more physicians and patients. This role is an exceptional stepping stone for anyone looking to build a career in finance or accounting, offering a blend of practical application, professional development, and meaningful contribution within a dynamic and supportive environment.
  • • You will be working approximately 20 hours per week, ideally structured across two full days and a half day, with a preference for availability on Mondays to support critical weekly financial operations. This flexible arrangement is designed to accommodate your academic commitments while providing consistent support to the team.
  • • This position is more than just a learning opportunity; it's a chance to make a tangible impact. You will see the direct results of your work in the smooth functioning of our financial operations and contribute to the overall success of AMBOSS as we continue our ambitious growth trajectory.
