đź“‹ Description

  • • Are you a driven student eager to make a tangible impact on the engineering landscape of a leading technology company? NiCE Ltd. is seeking a motivated Working Student to join our dynamic Developer Experience (DevEx) team. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the core of software development, contributing directly to the tools and workflows that empower our engineers to build and deliver exceptional products.
  • • At NiCE, we don't just meet challenges; we push beyond them. We are ambitious, we are game-changers, and we are committed to winning. We set the highest standards and consistently exceed them. If you share this drive and passion, we offer an unparalleled career opportunity that will ignite your potential.
  • • As a Working Student Developer Experience Engineer (f/m/d), you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and work remotely within Germany. Your primary mission will be to enhance the developer toolchain, reducing friction and enabling product teams to ship changes faster, more reliably, and with superior quality. This is a hands-on role where your contributions will have a real and immediate impact, providing you with extensive learning opportunities in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • • Your key responsibilities will include:
  • • Supporting the enhancement of our developer tooling. This involves contributing to small automation projects, developing scripts and command-line interfaces (CLIs), creating templates to standardize processes, and improving existing documentation to ensure clarity and accessibility for all engineers.
  • • Assisting in the maintenance and improvement of our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Your work will focus on optimizing build times, increasing pipeline reliability, and making build failures more understandable and actionable, thereby streamlining the deployment process.
  • • Contributing to the creation and maintenance of more consistent development environments. This includes working with containerized setups and gaining exposure to basic Kubernetes workflows, always with guidance from experienced team members, to ensure a uniform and efficient development experience.
  • • Participating in troubleshooting efforts and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across our entire engineering toolchain. You will help diagnose and resolve issues, contributing to a more robust and efficient development infrastructure.
  • • Collaborating closely with DevEx engineers, as well as members of the broader Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Security, and Quality Assurance (QA) teams. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for understanding diverse needs and implementing effective solutions across the organization.
  • • Engaging with modern development practices and technologies, gaining practical experience in areas critical to scalable software development.
  • • Documenting your work and findings, contributing to a knowledge base that benefits the entire engineering team and fosters a culture of shared learning.
  • • Actively participating in team meetings, offering insights, and learning from the collective expertise of the DevEx team.
  • • Taking ownership of well-defined tasks, demonstrating the ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
  • • This role is designed for students who are passionate about engineering productivity and automation. You will be working on the foundational elements that enable our engineering teams to excel. You will receive mentorship from experienced professionals, gain practical experience in real-world production workflows, and witness firsthand how modern, large-scale engineering organizations operate. You will learn how CI/CD pipelines are constructed and refined, understand the principles of containerized development and Kubernetes in practice, develop strong debugging skills for build and deployment issues, and appreciate how effective internal tooling and a positive developer experience directly translate to faster delivery cycles and higher software quality. This is more than just a student job; it's a launchpad for your career in software engineering.
