- • MillerKnoll is seeking a dynamic and insightful Workplace Strategist to join our Global Research & Planning team. This pivotal role is instrumental in guiding our clients through the complex landscape of creating effective and inspiring workspaces. You will be at the forefront of translating organizational aspirations and challenges into tangible, insight-driven design strategies that enhance productivity, foster collaboration, and support employee well-being. As a Strategist, you will serve as a trusted advisor to a diverse range of clients, including corporate offices, higher education institutions, and law firms, helping them reimagine their environments for the 21st century.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to engage key stakeholders within MillerKnoll accounts through consultative conversations. This involves asking probing questions to uncover the core aspirations and anxieties organizations face when developing new spaces. You will leverage your deep understanding of MillerKnoll's extensive body of research, seamlessly integrating relevant insights into discussions and recommending strategic and design solutions that are grounded in data and market trends.
- • A critical aspect of this role is the ability to connect these insights and design strategies directly to our clients' business objectives. You will advise clients on how to optimize their space utilization to achieve positive organizational outcomes, ensuring that their physical environment actively supports their strategic goals. This requires a sophisticated understanding of both business strategy and the impact of place on human behavior and performance.
- • Collaboration is key to success in this position. You will work closely with sales leaders and sellers to ensure that sales objectives and account plans are tightly aligned with the workplace design and strategy deliverables for client engagements. This cross-functional partnership ensures a cohesive and impactful client experience from initial contact through to solution implementation.
- • You will also build and nurture relationships with market influencers within the Architecture & Design (A&D) and commercial real estate communities. By fostering these connections, you will support clients in a collaborative approach, bringing together diverse expertise to create optimal solutions. Your ability to network and build rapport with senior decision-makers across client organizations will be essential.
- • As a thought leader, you will represent MillerKnoll at regional industry and business events. This includes speaking engagements where you will share MillerKnoll's proprietary insights and co-present compelling customer case studies, further solidifying our position as an industry leader.
- • Facilitating client influencer round tables and focus groups in concert with our Customer Research team is another important function. These sessions will be crucial for uncovering emerging needs, identifying key trends, and gathering valuable market intelligence that informs our ongoing research and product development.
- • You will collaborate closely with GRP Design Strategists and the Strategic Response team. This partnership is vital for guiding clients from high-level strategic concepts to more specific product recommendations and the development of robust RFP responses, ensuring a seamless transition from strategy to execution.
- • As an integral member of the Global Research & Planning team, you will contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement. You will provide valuable market feedback, offer support to fellow Strategists, inform Customer Research initiatives, and help test new insight messaging in the market, ensuring MillerKnoll remains at the cutting edge of workplace strategy.
- • This role is ideal for an individual with a positive, can-do attitude, driven by a passion for finding solutions for clients and contributing to a healthy team culture. A high degree of curiosity, a commitment to active listening, and a strong sense of service are paramount. You should be a natural team player, adept at working towards collective goals through a supportive and participative relational style. Your well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including professional presentation and facilitation abilities, will be critical in conveying complex ideas and building trust.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Interior Design, Architecture, Facility Design, or a social science like Psychology, Sociology, or Anthropology. A minimum of 6 years of experience in workplace strategy, interior design, facility management, or research consulting services related to place design is required. Familiarity with the contract furniture industry is a strong preference. This role requires willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time, predominantly covering the Western and Central regions. Candidates located in or near Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, or Seattle are preferred due to proximity to major airports.
