đź“‹ Description
- • Are you passionate about empowering young people to reclaim their focus and build healthier relationships with technology? Opal OS Inc. is seeking a dynamic and visionary Youth Advocacy & Success Manager to spearhead a student-led movement focused on digital wellness and self-regulation. In a world where digital distractions are increasingly impacting academic performance and overall well-being, schools are searching for innovative solutions. Opal for Schools offers a unique approach, enabling students to develop genuine digital self-regulation skills without shame, coercion, or a lack of trust. We believe in the inherent capability of teenagers to master their attention, a belief validated by over 250,000 teens who actively choose to use Opal daily. Your mission will be to amplify this success, transforming students into passionate advocates for digital wellness within their own educational institutions.
- • As the Youth Advocacy & Success Manager, you will be instrumental in cultivating a thriving community of high school and college students across the United States. Your role transcends traditional engagement; you will inspire and mobilize students to become the primary champions of Opal within their schools. This involves building and activating a robust network of student ambassadors, fostering deep engagement within our partner schools, and ultimately positioning Opal as the preferred, student-endorsed solution for phone policies. The profound impact of Opal for Schools, as exemplified by its success at Harvard-Westlake School and its recognition on the front page of the LA Times, underscores the potential for widespread positive change. If you possess a natural ability to energize your peers, translate innovative ideas into tangible momentum, and are adept at leveraging data to inform and refine strategies, this role is an exceptional opportunity.
- • Your core responsibilities will revolve around driving engagement within our partner schools. This entails working collaboratively with educational institutions that have implemented Opal for Schools, meticulously tracking key student engagement metrics such as activation rates, daily usage patterns, and long-term retention. You will be tasked with identifying points of disengagement and proactively designing creative, student-centric initiatives to boost participation. Viewing student engagement as a dynamic system, you will continuously test new approaches, learn from the outcomes, and implement improvements to ensure sustained involvement and success. This data-driven, iterative approach is crucial for maximizing the impact of Opal within each school community.
- • A significant aspect of your role will be the cultivation and leadership of a nationwide student movement. You will be responsible for recruiting, training, and empowering a network of student ambassadors across various high schools. This involves orchestrating engaging virtual meetups, designing compelling challenges, and launching impactful campaigns that resonate with student interests and motivations. A key objective is to empower these students to confidently share their personal narratives about achieving focus, maintaining balance, and mastering digital self-regulation. By amplifying these authentic student voices, we can build a powerful and relatable narrative around the benefits of digital wellness.
- • Furthermore, you will play a pivotal role in amplifying these student voices through various communication channels. You will actively surface compelling student stories that can be leveraged for public relations efforts, content creation, and community events. Close collaboration with our PR team will be essential to ensure that student perspectives are prominently featured, adding authenticity and impact to our outreach. This ensures that the student experience remains at the forefront of our communication strategy.
- • In this role, you will also be encouraged to build with leverage, utilizing cutting-edge AI tools to accelerate progress, expand strategic thinking, and automate repetitive tasks, thereby freeing up human capacity for more impactful work. The focus is on designing scalable systems rather than relying on one-off solutions. You are expected to approach challenges with a builder's mindset, proactively seeking opportunities for innovation and systemic improvement, rather than simply executing assigned tasks. This forward-thinking approach is vital for long-term success and growth.
- • The ideal candidate is someone who has a proven track record of building or leading initiatives, whether it be a student club, a community organization, a social movement, or a significant campaign. Alternatively, experience in a Customer Success role within a fast-paced startup environment is highly valued. You must demonstrate an innate ability to energize and inspire peers, making them passionate about a cause. In a remote work setting, you are expected to be highly self-directed, proactively creating momentum and driving initiatives without constant supervision. A strong curiosity about data and comfort in tracking engagement metrics are essential. A genuine excitement for digital wellness, education, or youth advocacy is paramount. Finally, you should be AI-fluent, adept at using artificial intelligence tools to enhance your effectiveness and amplify your impact, rather than relying on them as a substitute for critical thinking.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in building or leading a community, movement, club, or campaign, OR experience in a Customer Success role at a startup.
- • Demonstrated ability to energize and mobilize peers or a target audience.
- • Highly self-directed and proactive, with the ability to create momentum in a remote environment.
- • Comfortable with data analysis and tracking engagement metrics.
- • Passion for digital wellness, education, or youth advocacy.
- • AI-fluent: proficient in using AI tools to enhance productivity and impact.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Creative freedom and significant impact with a seat at the table.
- • Opportunity to build and lead a student movement with real-world influence.
- • Work remotely with flexibility (Eastern U.S. based preferred).
- • Backed by experienced investors from leading tech companies (Duolingo, Pinterest, Snapchat, Revolut).
- • Competitive compensation and potential for growth within a fast-paced startup environment.
